Ok...

I'm interested in hearing The Flower Kings.  What do you guys recommend as starter stuff?

Personally, I would recommend the DVD if you like epic pieces...  and Unfold The Future as a studio album...  from there, get the albums that you like the epics the most of...  then get the rest.

Stardust We Are. It's a double CD set, but it has the best and worst of
TFK. The title track is a colossus -- so be patient.

Personally I think Roine Stolt's solo effort The Flower King is a good place to start ...

I was never really sure what I was waiting for. When the moment came I was looking away ......

I recommend their first recording, "Back in the World of Adventures", simple but very direct album, without shenanigan... Or maybe the fantastic double album "Flower Power", if you like epic suites !!! But if you prefer a heavier sound, then go to "The Rainmaker"...

I wouldn't recommend Adam & Eve as a starter. It's good, but not for a beginner is TFK. I'd start with Flower Power or Space Revolver.

They are all good ... I would not recommend Adam & Eve, The Rainmaker or Retropolis to start with. Avoid Unfold The Future if you're not into Jazz. Otherwise they're all highly recommendable, my personal favorite is Unfold The Future.

Start with Back in the World of Adventures and work your way up through the rest of their catalogue.

I would definately say Space Revolver its an exceptionally good album and its only a single! Very good all the way through!

I don't mean to piss anyone off, but I own three TFK albums and they are all very similar. I don't think it really matters. Their sound is pretty static.

This was the only thing available to me at the moment.

Very good.  If they improve from this album, then this is going to one hell of a ride.
