Choose your favorite movie for 2010

Among those that I've seen, I'll go for Inception, The Social Network second.

I guess from your list I've seen:

Inception (4/4)
Toy Story 3 (3/4) Don't get the big deal here.
True Grit (3/4)
The Ghost Writer (4/4)
Exit Through the Gift Shop (3/4)

Inception, just because it is the most exciting, intelligent, philosophical, poignant, brilliant, and masterful sci-fi movie since Blade Runner, which admittedly is kind of less exciting. However, those two are the best science fiction films in the genre, no question.

Definitely Inception!

Two movies I really liked that didn't do well at the box office were Kick Ass and Scott Pilgrim.I am a big fan of the comics and both movies were really good adaptations.

I saw eight of the above listed, of those... the three I enjoyed the most were...

The Social Network (got my vote, by a very slim margin)
Inception
Four Lions

Is it just me or do the poll options switch around every time I view this page?

Well, I made it through the year without us doing a single trip to the theater.  The newest DVD I have is Capitalism A Love Story.  I checked out a little Avatar on cable and was promptly bored to death.

There should be a Coen Sister so you could have intimacy with her... Tongue

I've only seen 3 from this list, but the best one was probably Toy Story 3. I really want to watch Black Swan though...

Of the movies I've seen this year:
Inception started strong and then gradually became so boring I felt physically drained
Kick-Ass started strong and then suddenly horrified me to the point that I spent the rest of the movie dreading what might come next
Toy Story 3 was unsurprisingly wonderful
Tron was unsurprisingly bad
Shutter Island was entertaining with one of my personal favorite settings in a movie, but other than that it was disappointingly lightweight and mediocre.
Black Swan had a few cheesy moments and some general flaws, but it completely entranced me and left me with a deep emotional impact when it was over.  Probably my favorite, but I feel like there's a chance it won't hold up to a second viewing.
My vote goes to Four Lions.  I had no idea it existed until I stumbled upon it on the internet, and I suspect that many Americans are likewise unaware.  It should be seen.  It's sincerely funny and treats the subject maturely and with compassion.
