Disconnect is an American prog duo consisting of:
Erich O'Dell (me): guitars, bass, keyboards, voices Brian Eschrich: drums, percussion
We've played music together for nearly 20 years and Disconnect is the latest incarnation of our collaborative efforts. We officially formed in December 2009 and, since that time, have written & recorded two full-length albums as well as an EP.
Our first album ("Radio Hostile") is a concept album and was released in May, 2010. In August we released an EP entitled "Fragments", which consisted of songs we recorded during the sessions for "Radio Hostile" that we opted to drop from the final mix. We cut these songs as we felt they did not totally fit the concept of "Radio Hostile". The songs on "Fragments" are also decidedly more mainstream and straightforward than our other material.
We released our follow-up album "Obscuros" in November 2010, which is being reviewed in Progression Magazine's upcoming issue (issue #61). "Obscuros" is also in playing rotation on Aural Moon and ProgRockRadio.
We've recently been added as a Crossover Prog artist here at PA and would love to get feedback on all of our recordings from the forum.
The songs from "Radio Hostile" and "Obscuros" are streamed here at PA on our artist page:
http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=6100
As the material from "Fragments" has not been uploaded to PA for streaming audio, you may download "Fragments" in its entirety here at Mediafire:

hey folks, brian (the other half of disconnect) here. considering the fact that most of the music i listen to is either listed here or i found here, i'm wondering why it took me so long to create a profile. thank you to everyone who has taken the time to listen to our music and offer their thoughts and constructive criticism - it is most appreciated!
speaking of which, methinks i'll start doing some reviews as well...

Well both 'Obscuros' and 'Radio Hostile' are available as streaming audio here at PA on our artist page, also at our MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/disconnecttheband).
....And of course they are available for downloadable purchase at iTunes, Amazon.com, etc.
However if you're not able to stream the live audio feeds for some reason, we can provide you a download link for the albums. Just let us know.
Thanks!

Just as a side note, it is STRONGLY recommended that when you listen to
our albums you should start with either "Obscuros" or "Radio Hostile",
as these are true prog albums.
"Fragments", on the other hand, is an EP
made up of songs that were cut from the "Radio Hostile" album. The songs on "Fragments" are more or less straightforward 'rock' songs with few prog moments (hence the reason these songs were cut from "Radio Hostile"!).
of course, feel free to listen to "Fragments" AFTER you've checked out our other stuff...
thanks for listening...

It took a little extra time, but it looks like the next issue of http://www.progressionmagazine.com" rel="nofollow - Progression Magazine will be out shortly, including a review of Obscuros.
In other Disconnect news, we're about halfway through yet another album, which has taken the form of an album-length piece. We're only taking our time since our respective schedules don't allow us to work any faster.
Still hoping to see more reviews of Radio Hostile and Obscuros here as well!

Disconnect's "Obscuros" reviewed by Progression Magazine (Issue #61, April 2011):
-----------------------------------
DISCONNECT
Obscuros
2010 (CD, 65:18)
Independent Release
PROGRESSIVE ROCK
Rating: 12 (out of 16)
Disconnect comprises far-flung collaborators Brian Eschrich (New
Jersey, USA) on drums/percussion/synths and Erich O'Dell (Maryland, USA)
on guitars/bass/keyboards and voice. Obscuros, the duo's third album,
carries a potpourri of proggy reference points -- Rush and melodic
neoprogressive songcraft being the dominant elements, along with dashes
of heavy post-progressive.
The arrangements are meaty and varied; seven of these eight tracks
are in the six- to eight-minute range, with mid-disc epic "What Else Is
Left To Say?" clocking in just past 14 minutes. Lyrically, Disconnect
invites contemplation of what appear to be multiple themes of
"disconnect," both individually/internally, and in relationship. The
track "K.G." represents a nod to the late Kevin Gilbert - "...Another in
that line of those who left too soon."
As duo efforts go this album features a full sound with O'Dell's
expressive guitar/keyboard leads and voice setting the tone and
Eschrich's drums/percussion/synth filss blending in organically and
seamlessly. For two guys working hundreds of miles apart, that's an
impressive bit of intuitive artistry.
