Stan Whitaker of "Happy the Man" - now "Oblivion Sun", and Ray Bennett of "Flash" are both finishing new CD's for their respective bands, and are considering a joint tour in 2011.  Prog aficionado and NEARfest organizer, Ray Laboda, may be the man booking the tour.

Sounds good to me!

Early 2011 was the last word.  I'll see if I can get an update for you.

Hey, does anyone know what happened to the recordings from the 12/8 benefit show at Padonia Station in Timonium? That was a great set that I'd love to be able to hear again!

Have you tried contacting Stan Whitaker through the Oblivion Sun web site?

A buddy of mine (who, unlike me, has known Stan for a long time) emailed him a couple of weeks ago but hasn't heard back yet. I'm sure we'll eventually hear from him, but I thought in the meantime I'd check to see if maybe a recording had already made it into circulation -- in which case we wouldn't have to bug Stan about it at all.

Hi,

Dang ... is it ok to say that I would love to see Kit Watkins show up now and then?

Sherry, that's GREAT news!  Let me know when they are ready to land in Chicago & I'll start suggesting some venues!

Cheers & Happy New Year!

Oblivion Sun is indeed in the studio, working on a five-song recording. The work is being done at Frank's CraftyHands studio in Pennsylvania. The recording has a working title of The High Places. Three of the compostions are Stan's, two are Frank's. Two of the songs feature Stan's vocal. At this point we anticipate the record will be released on both CD and vinyl, on Prophase Records.
Bill's drum tracks are complete, we're finishing up my bass parts now, and Frank and Stan are ready to lay down their lines. We get together to record at least twice a week.
OS has no immediate plans for live shows - these will be deferred with great anticipation on our part until this product is shrink-wrapped and on the streets.
We thank everyone for their continued interest in the band, and in the meantime fans may visit our new site at Reverbnation.
