Voting for U2, naturally, for they are a good band that that has released only 1 slightly less than good album.

u2 is by far the least bad of those bands, but they still suck

The last three are horrendous. U2 and Sting have their moments. And Phil "Collions" is usually great at what he does...

U2 was a great post-punk band up until 1987. After that... no. Just., no.

My goodness what are you talking about?
Anyway, you can say that about anything. A turd is good at being a turd, but even if it's the best turd ever, it's still...

this is going to come back to haunt me but the FIRST band I ever liked and listened to was creed and they STILL have some decent riffs if you're into that sort of thing (on one album mind you) im not saying they're any good, im just saying i enjoy some of their riffs.
EDIT. not that i listen to them
i dont really enjoy the other bands, although sting and collins are good. there's just some nostalgia around creed. Im almost afraid to click vote.

I would say I'm between U2 and Phil Collins...
I won't say anything demeaning about the others

*Sighs*
REALLY? It isn't painfully obvious which of these are the best? Can't believe I even need to post this!
(old news to everyone in the SR, but non shredders...prepare to be horrified) Oh btw: Warning! Explicit lyrics and terrible, terrible music in this video....

Non trolling answer, U2.
They suck, but without doubt best of these bands. And honestly, I could tolerate them.
I guess next would be Phil Collins? After that it doesn't even matter... though Nickleback and ICP....

U2's 1980-82 material is excellent, and even afterwards they were still a pretty good band for what they did. Easily the best of the bunch.

U2, though the stage show is better than the music...

I love the line in the ICP where they say scientists are lying to them. Yes, universities around the world are full of students listening to the top liars in the world so they can learn to lie to hide the fact that every stroke survivor given TPA (clot buster) was a miracle and not a scientifically tested and proven medical intervention. Yep, clowns. Oh, and in medicine, ICP also stands for intra-cranial pressure....usually from traumatic brain injury. Coincidence?

They never made it past 1987. The godawful faux-rootsy "Rattle and Hum" from 1988 signals one of the biggest creative nosedives ever. From then on, it was bad techno, bad rock and loads of awful posturing.

Nickelback is the worst of those I know...I've never heard ICP. Their first song was ok and then they recorded 30 more times with worse lyrics. Groan...
Creed actually has more than 1 song I enjoy. It's extremely derivative and yes Tremonti is a shred fan. But they are one of the most vanilla bands out there...except of course Nickelback.
I loved Phil Collins and pop Genesis when I was an early teen. I think I liked Transformers then too. We all grow up but it was fun at the time.
Sting solo is reasonable adult pop. Not my cup of tea, but it is what it is.
U2 was a good band that just got old. It happens to all of us.
------------- You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

In this case I think Walter is being over generous - it was all over by '84 for me.
------------- What?

Creed, because I do enjoy Mark Tremonti work, it's a lot more than most Christian-mainstream haters see when they heard Scott Stapp singing... Creed is pretty much great in comparisson to Nickelcr*p and all the bands alike.
U2 is the worst band in mankind history, f*ck them, and f*ck Bono, I'm a hater!!!
Sting and Collins actually are cool, if you want to fall asleep soon, so, I don't hate them, I actually like a couple of songs by them and I admire Sting as a musician, but the two of them are boring as hell...
So, Creed, all the way and for a huge distance...

Creed is the most fun to mock-sing
ICP has the saddest fans
The rest are pretty generic crap
Might have to pick Phil Collins solo as it offends me less than Genesis' music, actually

I think their best work was the first 3 albums-Boy, October and War. The next 2 albums-Unforgettable Fire and The Joshua Tree are okay, but they were already getting away from the raw, guitar-driven post-punk that made them so great. Unfortunately, once they started working with Eno and Lanois (who are both talented) their sound softened and started heading down the commercial highway and into a sell-out car wreck.

U2 started out as a great post-punk band, their new stuff is just coldplay derivative, but 'The Joshua Tree' has had a huge influence of me.

I'm surprised Sting isn't getting more respect. I wouldn't put his solo works in the spectacular category, but they've been solidly decent. I recently added Face Value, but that is as far as I'm going to go with solo Collins.
And now for a really bad U2 joke I made up: Why have they still not found what they're looking for? Because the streets have no names.

Sting. I guess. A couple of his songs are a bit of a guilty pleasure for me.
Really tough, I guess musically, I would go with U2, also based on their Joshua Tree album but I just can't stand Bono, so I can't bring myself to vote for them.
And the others are just garbage.
