I have Matapedia of theirs and that is great as well Lucas. Going Christmas with The Chieftains. Love hearing old folk music as you know Big smile Paddy Maloney is one of the best pipe players and Derek Bell Cry RIP, was one of the best harp players. Took my mum to see them about 15 years back and she loved them,( me too, as well as my wife) Cool Must be the Irish Descent WinkBig smile

Know of the band but have not heard them. Liam O'Flynn ( Planxty) is another great pipe player that is as good as Paddy if not ..........  Smile Love em' both and cannot say it.LOL

Love the seventies rock  albums and of course the full on Jazz fusion ones as well but Overnight Sensation, Apostrophe and this little number were fab.
 
 
Hot Rats, Waka Jawaka, Burnt Weeny Sandwich are also aaaaaaaaaawesome

Yep, Over-Nite Senation and Roxy & Elsewhere were the two that my dad used to play a lot when I was a kid, that's probably why they're my faves as well.
 
He doesn't play much Zappa anymore, but he's still a big fan lol.

  Yeah Pablo he is like that people love some and not others and visa versa.Hot Rats is special in the Fusion ones for me. The title track to Weasels..........even I have a bit of difficulty with that oneLOL

I really only have time for one more of Franks. Someone stuck up a thread most beautiful prog tune or something but Watermelon in Easter Hay immediately shot to mind and wasn't Frank apart from being a great cut and paster one of those and  for today the Best Guitarist ever.........................If he wasn't ,he is up there in my top 5. Depends on the day. Tommorow I might have JImi on Big smile

Awesome!  Clap Approve

Last night I blasted "Distant Vision" and "The Coming Dawn (Thanatopsis)."  That's my second favorite album of all time and I'm sad so few are aware of its awesomeness.

Yeah, it's a great album - what I like so much about it is that it's both the playful and adventurous Kansas of yesteryear, but with a nice patina of maturation that makes it even more pleasing.
