After seeing this in the Obscure Prog Facts thread I got to wondering if any other celebs have come out as Progressive Rock fans?
[QUOTE=Tapfret]Sherman Hemsley AKA George Jefferson is known as a huge prog fan. As a matter of fact, he is such a Gentle Giant fanboy that he went on the Dinah Shore show and did a tap dance to Proclamation.

Brazilian elected president (to inaugurate Jan 1, 2011), Miss Dilma Roussef, is a declared fan of Pink Floyd. According to one of her helpers she used to hear PF during the campaign specially while flying or taking a brief rest.
However, I'm not sure if she fits the 'celebrity' status...

In the Tenacious D movie there's a scene where they're trying to write a masterpiece. kyle starts playing random riff, and at one point he starts playing "From the Beginning" by ELP.
There's also the scene in School of Rock where he instructs that kid to learn the keyboard solo from roundabout.
But really, that's just Jack Black the character. I have a feeling the actual person possibly doesn't like music at all.

British comedian Jim Davidson is an ELP fanatic and close friend of Keith Emerson, who he commissioned to compose the theme tune for a show he starred in called Up the Elephant and Round the Castle. Davidson has also used some of ELP's music in his panto productions (Tarkus must scare the crap out of the kids?)

That's impossible, he's made his entire career around music-based roles, not to mention that he writes and plays music.

Robin Williams calls Genesis his favorite band, weither he prefers their prog era or pop era I don't know, maybe like me he's fond of both?
Vincent Gallo is a very obvious example, Bufallo 66 had very memorable scenes featuring Heart of the Sunrise by Yes and Moonchild by King Crimson.
Stephen King MIGHT be a King Crimson fan, one of the main characters in The Dark Tower series is called "The Crimson King".
Koji Kondo, composer of a lot of the Mario and Zelda music is a fan of ELP.
One episode of The Simpsons featured Thick as a Brick. And Aqualung was featured in an episode of King of the Hill. So Matt Groening and Mike Judge are apparrently Tull fans.
And Chicago Bulls announcer Ray Clay is apparrently a fan of Alan Parsons, I think it was him who decided to use Sirius as their intro theme.
