When I paly a crappy Mars Volta or Marillion album, I always play a Yes or Genesis album to remind myself how prog should be done

I'm tired of scores of bands ripping them off.  But how could one tire of Genesis?

I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

Some young people don't have any respect

What a unique period in music history and still relevant today.

Voting yes, is like saying one is tired of prog, which is impossible to be if you like prog, therefore if you're tired of these bands mentioned in the poll, you're not a progger

OOPS, I voted Yes, thinking I was making a vote for the BAND Yes!

Best of 2006 that I've heard:
PFM-Stati Di Immaginazione
Zenit-Surrender (Best "unknown" album)
Oaksenham - Conquest of Pacific
2007:
Phideaux - Doomsday Afternoon
La Torre Del Alchimista - Neo

Of course, your poll would have marginally more credibility of you could actually spell 'Genisis' correctly in the first place....

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

No. But I'm not tired of modern prog bands like Mostly Autumn or The Mars Volta either.

No,I am not tired of them. The "classic" prog bands are the ones that got me interested in this music.I do like to expand my horizons, branch out,and listen to new bands and different prog genres though.

I only just got into them...wheres the fun in taking them away??? Well...actually its only Genesis that intrigue me. Only heard one song by yes and that was soon and it was only...ok to me.

"We shall be joined as one! We shall be joined as ONE!"- Genesis. Can't get that  song out of my head.

I am a bit tired. I like more other unknown 70s bands from Italy, France etc. I havent listened to Genesis or Yes for half year at least.

No. I cant imagine ever getting tired of Yes and Genesis. I like a fair amount of neo stuff, but IMO its no match for the masters.

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

K, k, k...why the **** is everyone here calling me IMO? I'm confused. VERY confused. The name's IMY- please. And as for your message, Blacksword, yep I know I'm not that full of knowledge in accordance with the history of Prog Rock but it doesnt stop me from participating in it's discussion, let alone from liking/loving it. Don't worry. Something tells me I'm going to be listening to a LOT of Yes in the next few months. I have a friend who's somewhat obsessed with them and he's making me listen.

It's an abbrievation, much used here (and elsewhere) - it means In My Opinion. Also sometimes with added H for Humble.

On a seperate issue - Why can I never seem to use the quote function in the Polls section?

Nope. Not tired of 'em.
