I'm eagerly awaiting the new Ayreon CD. Í've heard a couple of songs at the pre-listening party and saw the DVD. Pretty amazing.

Also looking forward to watching Porcupine Tree's In Absentia en Enchant's Live DVD. And I wonder if Pink Floyd's Pulse DVD will ever see the light of day as it has been postponed several times.

Does anyone know if Rush will release their Exit Stage Left of Show of Hands concert on DVD some day? I like Rush in Rio but I'm interested in old footage as well.

IQ have a new album due for release as mentioned on another thread.

I've also been waiting for a new Kate Bush album for what seems the last million years.

DVD wise then ELP have one planned for release later in the year similar to the Led Zep one although exact details have yet to be announced.

Hmmm...I pre ordered the new Ayreon album and I'm really looking forward to it...the trailer on the homepage got me  Mikael Akerfeld I'm a big Opeth fan and the fact that he is featured on this album alone is a reason to buy it...
I also listened to the single in a shop...or better: to Day 2 because I don't like radio or single edits...but day 2 is on this single in it's entirely, VERY NICE...

talking about Opeth I have to say that they're working on their new album and I'm really looking forward to this one...

The Gentle Giant DVD we talked about...

I wonder. I think it's about IQ's new CD. They already have a DVD called Subterranea.

Although not prog, there have been rave reviews about the  extended DVD of the Who's "The Kids Are Alright", which includes several tunes from "Tommy".

One eminent British jazz critic Jon Newey wrote up the double Led Zeppelin DVD released last year with lots of praise - in particular, Jimmy Page's Albert Hall solo of which Newey suggested there were more than a few hints of John McLaughlin's work in Mahavishnu Orchestra, but here recorded over year before Mahvishnu were formed. I think I know what bits he is talking about.

The jazz rock fraternity is raving over the Jonas Hellborg/Shawn Lane DVD with Indian persussionists released at the beginning of May - their CD "Icon" is also something for Indo-jazz fusionists.

omg, a gentle giant DVD!?

There will be a release of the Festival Express later this year, featuring a train trip across Canada (me home country) with Jerry Garcia and other memeber of the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, The Band, and others. It's supposed to be very good, for any jam fan.

The new Karmakanic release (Wheel of Life)...will be out in two weeks...
I was listenig to a premiere on delicious agony (net radio station). But the cool thing was the chat with Jonas Reingold, there where just 9 people in the chat room and you could talk to him about 2 hours while the entire new album was played, it was cool...
BTW Krister Jonsson was in that chat as well, he plays guitar on the album (Roine Stolt is featured as well)

I like a lot of these metioned.  Kansas is celibrating their 30 year anniversary with a 2 cd box set, remastered Title album and Song For America each with unreleased tracks.  The box set will contain a DVD that has interviews, music videos and live footage from the early days.

It's going to be an all covers album called "Feedback".  In the can and due out in June.

Here's the track list -

Summertime Blues

Heart Full Of Soul

The Seeker

For What It's Worth

Shapes Of Things

Mr. Soul

Crossroads

Seven And Seven Is

I've heard the first 1:20 of "Summertime Blues".  Big, instrumentally dense arrangement.  Think back to the original "Rush" album with a lot more drums and a thicker, crunchier guitar sound and you'll have the idea.

The artical I read didn't say but here it is:

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Kansas, Epic Records/Legacy Recordings will reissue remastered and expanded editions of the band's first two groundbreaking albums, 'Kansas' and 'Song For America,' on June 15, 2004.

Both were remastered by longtime Kansas producer Jeff Glixman. 'Kansas' features a previously unreleased 9 1/2-minute live version of "Bringing It Back" recorded in 1974, and 'Song For America' features the single edit of the title track (done by Don Kirshner) and a previously unreleased live version of "Down The Road" recorded in 1975. The packages will include rare photos, essays and a special dedication. But the 'Kansas' and 'Song For America' reissues are just the beginning.

ALSO This summer, Epic Records/Legacy Recordings will also release a career-spanning box set comprised of two CDs and one DVD. The CDs will feature songs from every Kansas album, and the DVD will be loaded with television appearances, music videos, live footage and more.

I'm not a great Kansas fan but I like the look of both the remasters and the box set.Looks like more money will be dissappearing from my bank account.
