I really like Broadway The Hard Way and Roxy & Elsewhere ... and all the others!

I think the most diverse, humorous and musically jaw-dropping album is The Best Band You Never Heard In Your Live. It has Ring Of Fire, Bolero (watch out, there are versions of the album without that track), Sunshine Of Your Love, Purple Haze and Stairway To Heaven. And of course the usual Zappa highlights like Cosmic Debris, Torture, Zomby Woof, Sofa, ... ... ...

The Helsinki Concert does it for me every time, though there's a lot of good stuff on both 'The Best Band You Never Heard In Your Life' and 'Make A Jazz Noise Here' - it's amazing to think both were recorded on the same tour as 'Broadway The Hard Way'.

None, cos I think Zappa isn't prog and shouldn't be discussed on a prog forum. Even more, I don't rate the guy or his music [if that's what you call it?]

YCDTOSA 2 is quite nice, I particularly like the speedy gonzales version of village of the sun, and the room service "sketch".

I gave to Helstinky, I saw this lineup and they were unbelievable. Although it's pretty much the same lineup, I can't see Roxy on this list 'cause of the studio overdubs. Not a true live album.

The Best Band You Never Heard In Your Life

Make A Jazz Noise Here is close behind

I love them all (except the truly awful 'Just Another Band From LA' and 'Filmore 71' albums).

It has to be 'The Helsinki Concert' for me. Astounding musicianship and a great sense of fun. That album has it all. Wonderful stuff.

Have only heard JABFLA, Roxy & Elsewhere, Bongo Fury and Zappa In New York.

Of those, I pick Roxy & Elsewhere

I'm quite fond of Bongo Fury myself.

Zappa in New York is an utter masterpiece of an album. Not only are the compositions played flawlessly, it has arguably the tightest band Zappa ever had as well as some of the best compositions in his repetoire.
