HYDRUS were one of the obscurest Italian psychedelic / electronic progressive rock bands in late 1970s. They released only one album 'Midnight In Space' in 1978 via Italian major label PDU (same label as http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=1646 - Cincinnato ) and it's said they were disbanded soon after that. No other information about them is around us but 'Midnight In Space' has been approved from generation to generation as an Italian psychedelic / electronic gem.

All of their stuffs are in YouTube. Let's see ...

... That's all of them.

As honestly I say, they have strong "electronic" essence but I feel psychedelic touch more strongly than electronic ... a tough case though.
So that, first of all I'll take them to Psych / Space hideout.

P.S. This gem has been introduced previously by Chris aka Takeshi Kovacs. Thanks Chris!

excellent project which serves a dreamy spacey mood Clap
while we have a dominance of electronics here ... I recommend to ask the progressive electronic team too Smile

Very calm and beautiful sonic landscapes here, treated in beautiful manner. The tonal textures remains in beautiful harmonic territories, resembling slightly early Vangelis. These motives are however contrasted with some very interesting artistic methods. The psychedelic aspects are borne from open, dreamy structures, songs do not seem to have clear direction or form, but more like flowing in the space without define boundaries. This philosophy with the sounds creates associations to early electronics and artists like Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream.

I would suggest this to electronic team's evaluation.

If it would not be accepted, then I would suggest psych inclusion, as there are also sections for organic jazzy rock band..

Tremendously beautiful music, I understand the enthusiasm to this band, let’s work for it’s inclusion, and I would wish a vinyl copy of it please. Tongue

... And they've been tossed to Electronic a while before. Smile

Their vinyl copy I've searched all around, but could not find anywhere at all.

thanks for the mention. This is mind blowing stuff, very refined orchestrated cinematic soundscapes with a great dose of neurotic experiments. Similar musical experience to 70s italian projects such as Albergo intergalattico spaziale, Franco Leprino, Telaio Magnetico (already included in the electro prog subgenre) You have my full support to add them.
