I love how in the opening scenes of the Flyingdale Flyer video Martin Barre doesn't even seem to be acting, it's like he's genuinely non-plussed by what Jethro Tull's got itself into.

I'm hip.  "Time Stand Still" is such a gorgeous song, and then they went and did such a sh*tty video for it.

I'm not sure which video it is but it's on that new Rush documentary. It's the one where Geddy Lee has that poofed up hair. He looks disturbingly like my second ex-wife.

The one where Rick Wakeman does a double ender with Peter Hamil and Phil Collins was surprisingly watchable.

This is probably the most embarrassing prog video I have ever seen, they don't even have the excuse of it being a crazy decade like the and '80s. I can't even watch it because I'm cringing the whole time for the people on stage performing this and for the people in the audience.
The editing on this one is pretty silly too.

That Radio KAOS stuff is shocking. It begins on a low with that egregious scrolling caption which is one of the least promising openings of all time and actually gets worse.

Hi,

None really, since very few of them have anything to do with the music or the work itself.

Most promo stuff is just trying to sell and many times it is done prior to the event itself and sometimes the artists are not even finished with the work ... and it would not surprise me if Roger wanted to turn the knobs a few more times and change things simply because ... he's Roger ... and Jim Ladd thought it would be a really good finger to radio and the music business -- as Roger, no doubt, would also agree.

And it's amazing that you guys don't get it. specially on that album ... what a perfect finger it would be to change it on purpose!

I wonder if we think that all of these people we talk about, are just a bunch of nobodies that have no ideas or opinions and are not smart enough to say and do something about it. And Roger is not going to take it sitting down and being quiet about it ...

I guess that in the end, it's not rock'n'roll about some bitch out there in the 4/4 format ... so why give Roger any credit?

-------------
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Not prog, but the promo video for the Scorpions "Sails of Charon" is pretty bad and does not befit such a great song.  All the members just look silly as they perform and Klaus Meine looks like an idiot when he starts doing his weird little dance.  Thumbs Down

Tull really have had a few stinking promo videos over the years.

But "Kissing WIllie" takes the cake. Not funny, only hilariously embarrassing. What was Anderson thinking...not only did he write a crap song but he doubled turded with this unbelievable video.

Flyingdale Flyer is no match for "Kissing WIllie"

Please watch........

On the not to recently remastered Wind and Wuthering, one gets on the video end of things this badly transferred segment from an old Mike Douglas show of the boys faux-playing their instruments and lipsincing to the record - I don't even remember what song it was (it was that bad). Truly cheesy. Additionally, their videos on the Duke remaster appear to have been shot for a couple of pounds and a pint. The band, dressed down.

aside from the fact its out of synch its still pretty awfull

this one might divide opinion as it was not intended to be taken seriously and was deliberately a lampoon or spoof. Still make me cringe though
