Hey guys,

I'm not completely sure where to post this, but this Metallica/Megadeth/Anthrax/Slayer advertisement is extremely annoying, and we would probably be best without it. It pops up in a similar way as the Kiss advertisement did, but this one makes sound as well. Is anyone else having this problem?

-Jeff

It is amusing sometimes to hit the site with a browser that doesn't have an ad block. LOL

They're annoying, yet they pay for the site. The old paradox. Maybe it's worthwhile notifying M@X about this, he might have possibilities to limit what type of adds the ad services forward to PA.

Hey, as long as they are music related I don't really care if they are prog related or not.  Plus I usually don't see them anyway.

Yes, but I don't use adblock because I like PA. The only saving grace of this one is that it's a video, so it takes a second to load and I can mute it, unlike the god-awful Nickelback one we had a while ago.

I enjoyed the ad the first time I accidentally moused-over it. Now, virtually every other time it appears, I activate it without meaning to via my trackpad. All I'm trying to do is scroll down the page. Cry

The ads don't pay for anything unless you click on them.

Not true, loading them in the page also counts. This is even more likely to be true on PA since Max doesn't use Google Ads. There was a minor drama when some large tech website asked everybody to please turn off adblock because preventing the ads loading was killing their revenue. I don't remember what website it was, though.

If it's pay-per-display then yeah. From what I knew we had pay-per-click, but I don't remember if I actually read that here or if I imagined it.

Yeah, I knew you would remember Matt but I thought mentioning you by name would be embarrassing. :P

LOL I remember visiting the site one day and not being able to view articles. I eventually checked Adblock Plus and added an exception for something and was able to view the articles, but I don't think that's what they wanted me to do.
