A couple of years ago, I pitched this idea to the community at AuralMoon.com. It was met with indifference, but I still feel pretty strongly about it. So let me explain the concept and see what you all think.

I want to form a Marillion tribute band. The period covered would be
1983 to 1985, i.e. the early Fish era. Thus, prospective members would only have to learn three albums worth of material. I would prefer to exclude "Kayleigh" from the set list, as my schnauzer of the same name died recently. The circumstances involved water balloons and an electrified fence. Needless to say, I am sick with guilt and don't want to be reminded of poor Kayleigh every time I hear that song.

Easy enough, right? But here is the catch. Before we break into a back-to back rendition of "Bitter Suite" and "Heart of Lothian", the drummer will take a solo while the rest of us change clothes. We will put on evening gowns and Welsh hats, thereby lending an androgynous tone to the proceedings.

Between the two songs, I will take a solo while the drummer changes clothes. Don't worry, I will look and play a lot like Steve Rothery (if he were a cross-dresser).

I want to call the band "Misplaced Manhood".

Suggestions? Comments? Am I going too far with the moniker?
