Used to be a band geek... but I don't really feel like any of those apply to me.

Must be the Universal Geek or the Allround Geek. Many apply a bit, but none completely.

"a bright young man turned inward, poorly socialized, who felt so little kinship with his own planet that he routinely travelled to the ones invented by his favourite authors, who thought of that secret, dreamy place his computer took him to as cyberspace—somewhere exciting, a place more real than his own life, a land he could conquer, not a drab teenager's room in his parents' house." (Julie Smith)

That's the working definition fellas, you are allowed to fight back you know? Why does practically everyone on here accept the labelling so willingly? Unhappy

If anyone calls me a 'geek' in the real world they get either a moutfull of Glaswegian invective or a slap (that part's negotiable) Why isn't someone unhealthily obsessed with being successful in say, the business world called a entrepreneurial geek?

Oh bugger, this is 'Just For Fun' Whoops...Embarrassed

In fact, you are right man... I know that from 10 years to know to be "Geek" is cool (even though it seems to be mutual exclusive) but for me is kind of something silly... if I like comics, why I should put a label on my head because of it...? people like to collect guns as well and I'm sure no one is calling him a geek so... don't be so... geeks to accept the labelings...!!!

Rock, obviously.

Though I prefer the term "elitist" since geeks can be goofy/lovable.
While my music elitism is just annoying, bombastic and douchey.
