I would like to apologise to my American friends for the picture I posted the other day.
When I took the (over?) dramatic step of changing my Username it was to try and rid myself of baggage I had accumulated over the months since I first joined. Then I go and do it again.
I tend to forget too often that just because something is acceptable to me,then it ought to be acceptable to others. This is a selfish point of view to take, and I apologise for any offence.

It may have been bad taste Tony, but it was very funny! I had tears in my eyes! It is easy to offend people without meaning too though. Our American friends have to remember that we are equally appalled by the events of 9/11, (but can't resist a joke).....
And Nachos right, drop the family portrait!

Didn't see the photo Tony, but I salute you for your apology.
For too many, "sorry" does indeed seem to be the hardest word!

Thanks for the apology. I did become angry when I saw it, and probably a little defensive too. But your apology meant a lot, so thanks- no hard feelings.

it seems to me that if yu wanted to rid yourself of unwanted baggage accumulated from your old username you would have changed your avatar as well, reed..... also, you should apologize not to americans but all of humankind...anyone who can find amusement and comedy in a tragedy of that magnitude is in need of serious resensitizing ....further, if yu want to outlive your nefarious past, why did you attack me without provocation on the horticulture thread? calling me "the enemy"....seems like it is you who is the troll, and who just cannot help but stir up schism, ever wonder why you had to change your username ?

Tony:
Personally, even as an American, I was not offended by your photo. Still, if you feel the need or wish to apologize, you have my forgiveness as well...
Peace.

Tony, I do not personally as an American take any offense at what you did. The picture was not all that bad, tasteless, yes, but you wanted to have a discussion, nothing wrong with that at all.
What enraged me was BaldFried. She said the most callous and tactless remark I've heard, saying "She missed the airplanes and flames" from the pictures of the twin towers you posted. She said this was satire, or a joke, but it just is not funny. I live In the New Jersey, and my father had business associates whom he was close with who died in those buildings. This remark by BaldFried was inexcusable.
Anyways, Tony R, way to be a good guy!

Hi Bob , this is the one of the front lawn thread.
Well Tony , it did have me unwillingly smirk also, but it was not as funny regarding the context , of course!
Even worse is someone putting those things on his front lawn to prove his patriotism and maybe his fanaticism (up to fundamentalism! .....EEEEEhmmmmm.... I may be pushing it a bit there )
As Bob says , saying sorry is tough for some people.

I have read that thread and Tony R clearly thought that you are Hoprlevre! You stated so yourself! In that case his comments are justified! If you are not Hopelevre, I cannot think of a reason that you claimed you were!

I feel sorry for you too.
I didnt have to change it-I wanted to change it. I believed posting in my real name would make me more responsible for my posts. I enjoy the lighter side of life but also am a passionate person.I feel strongly that anonymous cowards can attack others for absolutely no reason and then feel smug about it.
