Don't feel like you have to read the following paragraph (you'd be at least as bored reading it as I was writing it). More bored you say? Well, no need to insult me.
These are two of my favourite Acid Folk bands. I'm not just asking which band you prefer, I'm asking you to highlight a particular, or particular albums that you really like. So, for instance, if you know a few Spirogyra albums and just one Jan Dukes de Grey album you might decide by pitting a favourite Spirogyra album against that Jan Dukes de Grey one to make it, I think, a little more fair. And please take the time to share your impressions of both rather than just saying, for instance, "Jan Dukes de Grey!" And please remember to mention particular favourite albums in a post. Hopefully this will lead people to some new discoveries, and we might even get some entertaining discussion going. Digressions are encouraged! If you want to talk about other acid folk albums as well, go right ahead! An apologies if I'm not spending a lot of time responding to people's posts (I think a good topic starter will try to engage the points to make it more lively), but I'm usually multi-tasking and doing this in between my frustrating work.

I really like Spirogyra's first three and Jan Dukes de Grey's first two (especially Mice and Rats in the Loft). Spirogyra is my particular favourite of these, but I love both. If i had to choose between St. Radigunds and Mice and Rats in the Loft, I would go with St. Radigunds (Bells, Boots, and Shambles is also fantastic).
I haven't heard the recent Children's Earth and Strange Terrain releases.

Jan Dukes de Grey.
Spirogyra never did it for me. I have that 'a Canterbury Tale' collection and all three of the albums there leave me wanting so much more.
JDDG's Mice And Rats is fairly exciting and sounds like they were trying to impress. I'd love to hear Strange Terrain.

Hmm, I know and enjoy Mice and Rats in the Loft and St. Radigunds, not sure which I enjoy more. On the one hand, Mice and Rats has Sun Symphonica, but on the other hand Spirogyra has Barbara Gaskin. I guess I'll vote for Spirogyra this time, but my vote could really go either way.
