CHARLESTOWN - Coming October 2010 on the Festival Music (F2) label.

The new album has reached its mastering stage with the artwork now in full production.

With a good headwind and weather, we are on course for our Autumn release schedule (OK, that's enough of the sailing imagery I think).

'Charlestown' is made up of six new recordings including the epic mulit-sectioned title track.

The album features the new live band line-up (except for Conor Lawrence, who arrived after recording was concluded) and includes Dave Albone's last work with the band before his retirement.

Once again, some extra guests have been drafted in to help add to that unique sound which is MANNING music! (Information on the MANNING website - http://www.guymanning.com%29/ - www.guymanning.com)

The front cover has been especially created by Rosie Manning (who also did the 'Songs From The Bilston House' artwork).

"Definitely a more challenging listen this time around, lots of quirky time signatures, stark lights and shades plus more band ensemble / orchestral playing...I always liked albums that I maybe did not get into right away, but kept coming back to time after time to really appreciate...A Passion Play and Topographic Oceans spring to mind...my first reaction to them was 'what the F*?/*!^' but now I love them dearly' (Guy Manning).

Material from the new album will be featured in the late 2010 and 2011 UK dates.

Thanks for all the support
GuyM, Julie, Kris, Kev, Chris, Steve, Tim & Conor

Hi Guy. I was wondering if you'll release something after all this year, with you being active in other projects.

Great news. Can't wait for it and I think that many others as well.

Sorry.  Poor choice of a word.  I meant previous rather than earlier.

It is alright.  English is only my first language and all.  But it is the Americanized version of it with my own personal touch, so it doesn't necessarily translate well on that side of the ocean. LOL

Digging the cover art - very reminiscent of "Fragile".

Yeah it did me a bit too when I saw it.

Funny thing is that Rosie has never seen the Fragile cover so there was no concious plagarism there...that is why I let it go...and of course I love I anyhow.

But I mentioned the unintentional 'homage' in the artwork just in case Wink

You've recorded and released so much quality material that I expect nothing less than a 5 star album from you and you always deliver.I didn't think you could top the exceptional Songs From The Bilston House and Number Ten but you did with Charlestown.Great album Guy,and the title track is EPIC! The first impression of the album is very good. Man In The Mirror an excellent song. I need  some more time to digest the rest of this king size meal.
