Boring in quotes guys hahaha now me in my band finally got a real gig and we were all wondering how we would use some stage presence to spruce up the music. Like how PF would use floating pigs and tear down huge walls but not to that extent hahaha we don't have enough money for that....! Now me being the drummer I have a lot as it is just being excited and lie head butting cymbals and standing up and kicking over my stool and sh*t so If you know any it would be more centric towards the bassist and guitarist and singer. Thanks guys

Have the singer bite the heads off small animals, the guitarist should play with his teeth while the guitar is on fire, and if you have a keyboardist, he should repeatedly stab knives into the keyboard.

Get a Theremin. Not the vitamins, an electronic instrument with an antenna. Cool stage prop. Jimmy Page used one. You don't even need the expensive MOOG theremin. You can get one off Ebay for less than $200. I've seen vids of people putting their all into these things, years learning to play real songs with their fingers.. Personally I think they just make good stage show/embellishment. Use the 2 knobs to find your "sweet spot", run it thru a large hall reverb or better, multitap reverb.......you being the drummer might be ideal. Keep it out of sight. But look on Ebay, this is about 2 years old since I bought one, but there is a guy who sells them for about $160. Just a suggestion. Who knows? You might have fun with it.

The singer should pace the stage constantly with his shirt off as well as making large arm/hand gestures. The guitarist (also shirtless) should jump as much as possible, since he can't walk around without getting unplugged/tangled, and when he can't jump he should at least be swaying or shuffling in place. Used to play in a band and had a residency at a London pub, until the drummer got so drunk, one night, that I gave him a slap, onstage.
That blew the gig, and split the band.
But it got the most applause I can ever remember.

1- Use 3 female vocalist in right corner of stage and use "solfege" in middle of some songs. Note that they must wear "Short skirts".
2- Set a great "Circle" on top of the Stage and show "Tom and jerry" with "pilot cabin" sound on it. ( use over dub technique)
3- Light one cigarette with "Laser" light.( Try this with "Slow Motion" . This is difficult in live concert
and you must have good training before do this. You can consult Gabriel .)
4- Show your childhood pictures on "Circle" . If you have crying picturers 100% use it.
5- Cover some PF and specially " Genesis" songs. ( You can consult "Unifaun" band to cover Genesis). OPTION: Copy collins voice specially in SHARP mood.
6- Tell guitar and bass player to "headbang" in instromental parts.( like
 )7- Dont forget "sunglasses" with "Smile" like
 OH . sorry. very long and "Boring" writing!!! Please forgive me to waste your time. it is very enjoyable!!

Way before PF did that, people were listening to the music and Echoes and Atom Heart Mother did fine, thank you ... and in many ways, those shows were a LOT better than the later ones with DSOTM and TW ... which had way too many "fans" and the audience was not respectfull and nice as the earlier shows were.
In some ways the staging was cool, but in the end ... it stunk, and it even got Roger mad because people were fightingfor pieces of the pig ... and you can hear this on a couple of bootlegs, and it is, more than anything, a true testament to what is wrong in the music/concert business.
I say, that if your music doesn't stand up to the "silence", then you are not an innovator and the audience is going to sleep on you, and there is not much that you can do to improve that. The other chance/idea is ... a bit further out, but if you are just doing "songs" ... the whole thing is a mute discussion, since there is no span of time to help folks meet the music inside you!
There is no such thing as "boring music" ... and if that is what you call it, you have already made a point that you are not happy with your music and your presentation of it. Sad ... you are not even giving yourself a chance and already you don't like it. How do you expect anyone else to like it?
May I suggest some serious soul searching as to what your band wants to do with the music first and then you can talk to a madman that would love to put it on a stage with you! But it gets harder when all you have is 10 songs and they are the same thing and theme. In the end, it's about the music and who you are ... not the songs! You know I am not into Classical Music, but boring, not really. I like to listen to the different instruments and pick out individual parts. Some of those lines can be used to make a wicked solo on a different instrument Classical Music calms & refreshes the instrument. I don't know much about Indian Classical Music but as I love listening soft, sad & instumental music I never felt bored. Construct a wall between the stage and the audience so that the band members are hidden behind it. I think you can make a lot of money if you did that. Trust me no one has done that before...
If not perhaps you could all wear makeup and glammy costumes, and take on persoans such as oh.... say, a cat, a demon, a spaceman and a starchild, you could become millionaires if you did that.... how bout that for originality. -------------
