RawksA load of progheads hate power metal, I don''t give a f*ck. Sometimes progressive is too complex for my head, I want epicness.
Ps: Just GERMANS here, Hammerfall, Rhapsody of Fire, DragonforceDead, and that kind of stuff doesn't have credibility here.
Ps2: Blind Guardian's most progressive stuff isn't here too, just power Rawks!

Voted Helloween's Keeper of the 7 Keys part II, even if I'm going to bitch about the absence of French bands such as ADX, Der Kaiser and Killers.

Keepers II! Honorable nod to No World Order, some classic stuff on there... Heart Of The Unicorn, Damn The Machine, Dethrone Tyranny... However, I find the live version of that album (Skeletons In The Closet) actaully gets more listens from me.

Am I the only one who thinks Symphony X is A LOT more power metal than prog?

Anyways, I pick Somewhere Far Beyond.

No love for Angra - Holy Land?

I love Holy land from Angra, great album, but keeping what is in the list I'll go with Under Jolly Roger- Running Wild, one of my fav non prog albums ever. To me is more like heavy metal what Running Wild offers but sometimes is close to power metal, mostly later albums. Anyway Helloween both keepers are essential in anyones collection for sure.

Holy Land and Fireworks are great! But I said only Germans. Try listening Harppia- A Ferro e Fogo, very good Brazillian Heavy Metal album too.

The lack of Hammerfall, the only power metal band I even remotely like, disturbs me.

Any power metal that doesnt revert to Dungeons and Dragons garbage is automatically good in my books.

I have not heard New World Order yet, but it can't be better than the Keepers or Land of the Free.

I voted for Keeper I. A great list of albums in general. Most of current bands are just bad copies of Helloween (see Hammerfall). Dragonforce is nowhere on the map if you ask me and Rhapsody have produced some respectable albums.

For some good modern power, check Labyrinth, Eldritch and maybe Manticora (Lanfear is next in the list to listen)

New World Order is far better than Land of the Free (in my opinion).
Keeper I is as awesome as II, but sadly is a bit underrated album compaired with the second part.
Gotta check that bands out, sounds good.
