It Seems the ELP record demonstrates a lot of keyboard and the Crimson record demonstrates a lot of flute.

In The Court takes it, but ELP's debut is mighty fine as well.

...kind of a useless poll.................... 'Court'. I'm not very fond at all of ELP.

Which, since I'm a flute player, could be why Court got my vote.

I voted Court, but unlike most others here I think ELP's debut is excellent as well.

Thirty years ago, I'd definitely have chosen In the Court.
But the more I listen to it, the more I realise how dreadfully dated and overrated it is now. Only Epitaph still cuts it.
I've never been a great fan of ELP, but they get my vote here.

Sorry I can't vote. I like both of them a lot but for different reasons. Both were seminal albums in prog's history as well as being absolute classics and must haves in anyone's prog collection.

So In the Court... is the ice cream cone, right? Erving goes into the zone for a big dunk but slips on some melted ice cream and is removed from the game due to injury. Ice cream wins!

Only two choices? That's no fun. I voted for the Crims.

The Court of the Crimson King. ELP's debut had some great songs, but Court is a whole great album (despite Moonchild's long jam). Besides, Lake's vocals are so much better on the Crimson album (he never equaled his singing on Epitaph, as far as I've heard).

I'm really sad to say that this poll was over before it started ELP's debut really deserved more votes though.

The one with Lake in it...
just kidding .... although I love ELP, I must admit In the Court is superior (this would have been more difficult with Tarkus or Trilogy)

ELP is my favourite band but I have to vote for Court just for its significance although I don't believe its a masterpeice.
ELP's debut album is the most acceptable album for prog fans who don't rate ELP. ELP fans on the other hand always put Trilogy and Brain Salad Surgery much higher.
btw this is the most one sided poll ever!

Although I've gone with KC, I agree with this. We're being quite predictable, aren't we..?

Two of my top favorite albums, another difficult poll.
I think I like ELP's debut just a little bit more, so I voted for that one.
