Which of these 24 releases is your favourite? Mine is the eighth, as it is my favourite game of all time.

To say that anything other than Final Fantasy VI is a crime (not that FFIV isn't masterliness as well). My third favorite game after Earthbound and Chrono Trigger. And Kefka is indeed the greatest villain of all time.

I've only played I (on an emulator and not all the way through), VII, VIII, X and X-2. Out of those VII is easily my favourite. Probably my favourite game ever, actually.

VIII is a very underrated masterpiece.

Only FF I've ever, kind of, liked was 10. My brother is only slightly more of a fan and he liked 7 a lot.

IX then VII/VI all of them are pretty good, haven't played 13, and XII got way too much crap despite being an awesome game

I'll go with VII, that game really changed my life BIG TIME! I was eight years old when I first went it through, I'm at the ending at the moment for 22th time to beat the game (yeah I counted, call me nerd!)! IX is right after that probably X, VI, VIII, XII, XIII, V, IV. I haven't played I, II or III so I can't add them to this list. Nice to see that there's FF fans here, probably because of Nobuo Uematsu's soundtracks

VI and VII are magnificent and IX very entertaining as well. Haven't played any others very far though. Voted for VI.

Uematsu is indeed an underrated musical genius. He composes each song with care, and there is almost never a dull track in any FF games. Not to discredit the excellent gameplay and story, but his soundtracks really make the FF games in my opinion.

IX for me. And I completely agree about Uematsu making the games what they were. The soundtracks really influenced me in terms of music, and they are definitely the reason why the games are so memorable.

I've played all games on this list. (nerrrrrrrrrrrrrrd!) So I'll rank them. 1. VIII 2. VI 3. Dissidia 4. VII 5. XII 6. IV 7. Tactics 8. Crisis Core 9. IX 10. Revenant Wings 11. III 12. Grimoire Of The Rift 13. V 14. Tactics Advance 15. X (I would like it more if it weren't so easy...) 16. XIII 17. I 18. Mystic Quest 19. Dierge of Cerberus (never was a fan of FPS, but this wasn't too bad) 20. Crystal Chronicles
21. XI (online only? what a rip...) 22. X-2 (decent gameplay, but the gigantic Charlies Angels resemblance bothers me a lot...) 23. II (stat increasing system is very annoying.) 24. Crystal Bearers (just.....bad)

VI. No Question. The steampunk/post apocalyptic world mixed with magic was the world that FF always needed. not to mention the best story, most lovable characters and best magic/equipment system for a turn based game.
Runner up has to be Grimoire of the Rift. On my second run through it as we speak

Hey, that's cheating!
I too prefer Chrono Trigger to any FF game, but not by much. A game that's pretty much flawless in every aspect.

VII though XII runs it very close. Mind you, I've only played VII through XIII.

Actually, no. I don't even have an Xbox (or 360, or the sh*tty new thing they announced at the E3). I still play the original N64 version though, it's my favorite game of all time. Or did I already say that was Final Fantasy VI?

Sorry, TPS. I always get the two mixed up.
Also, it's been an incredibly long time since I've played, couldn't remember the spelling.

Well, you're missing out. Playing the Falicity map online now really enhances the multiplayer experience immensely. Pair that with enhanced HD graphics, full 16:9 display, and no more lag time during the action, well you've got yourself a worthy xbox purchase, in my opinion.

I voted for 6. Many others are great but that game comes close to literature.

So true. Never before have I cared so much for pixeled images on a television. Such great plot and characters.

I've only played a few. The first was I for the original Nintendo. I think this was the first game I actually finished, after suffering many a Glance.

Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

I've only played I, IV, VII, X, and XI. My favorite out of these would be X. I just thought it had a much more emotional story than the others; I actually cared about the characters. VII and IV were both good too. I found the original to be kinda boring, though.
As long as we're talking about other RPGs, I really loved Xenogears, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and Tales of Symphonia. I'd almost have to say that Xenogears is my favorite game of all time. Breath of Fire II was another pretty good game. And then there's Star Ocean 3......It really could have been a great game, if not for quite possibly the stupidest plot twist ever.

I'm surprised that VII has so few votes...
I liked IX too. Is XIII worth getting??
