This might be of interest to some in the UK.

The Music Group on Radio Four asks people to talk about the songs that are important to them. A former soldier talks about the effect hearing Pink Floyd's The Great Gig in the Sky had on him while serving in Afghanistan. I found it fascinating listening:

The Floyd part starts about 20 minutes in if you want to skip bloody Snow Patrol.LOL (they do play Captain Beefheart earlier as well though).

Thanks, I'm listening right now...

So sad to hear people talking about older or non-mainstream music with that "what the f**k is this?" attitude... But even so the BBC are doing a good thing for classic rock and prog.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I didn't realise you could listen to the BBC's iPlayer outside the UK!

That surprised me too. Apparently the broadcasting rights are different for radio to those for video.
