I don´t know if such a topic already exists, but I couldn´t find it...
So, tell us a bit about what guitar you are rocking out! A picture of it would be nice. What is it about it that you like? What type of music do you play and how does your axe work out for you? Are you satisfied with it? Do you have your eye on another one? Do you use any pedals?
I for one can make this very shot.
I have a Les Paul Custom Sx... and it´s time to change it. It´s an alright guitar but I´m playing some gigs with my band now and live I can truly feel it´s limitations, specially when it comes to keeping it in tune and the pick ups, which sound kinda gritty... if that´s a way to discrive sound at all. What is great about this guitar is the wood. With two good pick ups and chaning the tunning pegs I´ve heard this guitar becomes something completly different. BUT... I want to change it cause I´m into semi hollow bodie guitars, and I have my eye on a Washburn Hb30. With a bit of help I will change it in a few weeks, but money is short at the time...
What about you?

My main axe is a Yamaha classical. Old and beat up by me. Not intentional, sh*t happens. I'll post a pic later. One if the things I had to get out as the house was being flooded. I carried it over the bridge and across the waters before I rescued the cat. My electric is a Jackson Performer Floyd Rose tremelo. I put on top of the cube freezer in the utility room and it didn't get soaked.

I've got a Danelectro 56 pro, which is a great instrument, what it lacks in high-end parts and construction (it's made out of plywood and masonite, like a kitchen table) it makes up in personality and spankin' tone. It really is a beautiful instrument that my hand get along wonderfully with. Her name is Mikayla My other guitar is an ESP ltd H-401, with Seymore Duncan pickups. This one is a gorgeous, smooth, shredding rock machine that's also very well suited to jazz and heavy metal. Her name is Natasha
I've also more-or-less commandeered my dad's late-70s Fender F-35 acoustic guitar, it's a huge beastly guitar, ridiculously loud, very warm tone. I love everything about it except the extra heavy strings, they sure do put up a fight.
Yes, that's a Mesa/Boogie amp. Thing cost me an arm and a leg, but was worth it.
Right now, I'm really lusting after two guitars. The Loar LH-200 small body acoustic:
and Hagstrom Viking:
I need a job.

cheap off-brand sh*tty japanese guitar that my uncle gave me when he got a "real one". it has 5 strings (the high e broke like 3 times so i didn't change it anymore). actually i hadn't touched a guitar before this, but now 2 years later i've became a self-taught guitarist (not that good but average i guess). i should really buy a better one but i'm too lazy

Sounds a little like "my" first guitar. My Mom treated one of my brother's friends to a Kansas concert. He repaid her with this beat up acoustic he had. One of the tuner knobs had busted off so you had to use pliers. But it did get me started as my Mom didn't play guitar and I could pick it up and just mess around. One of the first things I could imitate was Phil Manzanarea doing Bogus Man on Viva.

...and cheap but lovely classical Aria.
I have an electric bass and a plethora of synths, but I never had an electric guitar.

Yeah me too, that's why it will probably be my next purchase. There was one at a local guitar store, it was the most beautiful thing I've ever played

I'm not sure why I'm not able to post a higher resolution pic through this service (Photobucket), either they want money or it could be me. Anyway on the left we have the monitor and plastic desk that used to reside in the library room. The CPU (off camera) was in the music room. You can still seed flood mud stains on the desk. I did my best to clean it up but it's not easy. The amp is new. MY oldest surviving acoustic guitar is in front. Yeah I play a classical guitar with a pick, sue me. Behind the head of the acoustic is a sequencer that I am still trying to figure out how to use. I can do some basic stuff with it, but you really have to spend some time to learn how to make it do what you want it to do. The keyboard is a flood survivor. Barely made it. One corner got some water. The onboard patches were a bit scrambled. The patches on the memory card are totally fine. Weird.
The effects box on the floor is a a replacement. I like it a lot. My last was a Zoom and quite fun, but I never had a pedal. I really haven't done much with that. Being in an apartment now you really don't want to annoy the neighbors too much. Moving on along is the Jackson. I really love the Flyod Rose. Once in tune the thing stays in tune for just about forever. The first time I tried to tune it I hadn't been told that you have to do the strings in a certain order or the bridge will keep rising up kind of like a cat does when getting a nice back stroke. Off to the right is the latest computer which replaces one that died a few months ago, not flood related. I shut everything possible off as the waters were coming in. The box to the right is what the replacement home theater system came in. Makes a really good temporary table.

My guitar is a unique Morten Faye #1, a classical guitar handmade especially for me. She’s a beauty, but sadly I am unably to post pictures. However, you can hear the sound here (wait until the vocal part):
http://www.supload.com/listen?s=t7ocJI - http://www.supload.com/listen?s=t7ocJI
She’s made of rosewood and ebony — and spruce, I think.
I don’t really play the electric guitar, but I used to have a Washburn. A friend of mine borrowed it. Then he sold it, I think. Then he died (I didn’t know he was a junkie, or at least experimenting with substances far more dangerous than cannabis).

I also have a knockoff Strat.
I'm buying a ESP F250 from a friend for about $300. It's a great metal guitar, and it has a Floyd Rose licensed tremolo bridge.
For the other clef, I have an Ibanez EDA-905 fretless bass, as well as an unbranded startup bass.

Nice, Tarquin; I wish I could afford a Mark V. Alas, my F-50 is considerably cheaper (by Mesa standards)
I also use Jazz III picks, it's gotten to the point where I can't tolerate anything else in my hand

I would, but the amp's in the shop. Something wrong with the loop bypass, and I've barely had it two months. I absolutely love that thing, but when something goes wrong with it, it's best left to the pros, methinks. Its so complicated

This Tokai Les Paul is my number one guitar for recording, I get pretty good distorted sounds out of it. I don't really play it that much apart from recording. That acoustic Yamaha is a pretty new family member, I should play it more to get the feel of it.
The Squier Strat on the right was my very first guitar ever, I've been dreaming of arming it with a humbucker and making it my punk axe, but so far I've been too lazy and poor for it. My fiancée won the Tokai Strat on the left from a rock mag poll a while ago and since then that has been my guitar of choice for general strumming and composing. I'll probably do my first recordings with it soon. Great touch, pretty good sound. There you also see my amps, I've got no pedals, just those. Should re-string the classical guitar one day and bring it back from the graveyard behind the amp wall.
There's my trusted bass with his tattoos and my second guitar, Epiphone Les Paul. Some electronics of it have been messed up so that the bridge pick up doesn't work anymore, otherwise a good quitar I miss using.

I have a Tokai Super Edition, very nice guitar to play.
I got told by a guitar shop that it's a fairly rare guitar, I haven't seen many around in shops etc.
The paint on mine was origionaly like Van Halens Yellow and Black stripe guitar, although
when my Uncle gave it to me, he painted it black because he was in a gothy sort of band.

All these pictures are off the net, not my actual guitars but very close.
1994 American Standard Strat - I replaced bridge with Lace Sensor.
Washburn WI-64 (Nice Inexpensive guitar which is actually the one I dink around on most these days)
My main guitar back in da day was a Peavey Tracer with a holofinish and a reverse headstock - very metul
I have a mexican p-bass for recording and a stock $300 yamaha keyboard that does more than I'll ever be able to use.
My main axe is actually this workhorse of a model:
Taylor 414ce

First one was a cheaper-than-cheap little Memphis, moved on to a black Les Paul custom (built from a Gibson kit), then a very nice Strat variation by a Japanese maker with a Kahler trem system. I currently play a slimline Ovation acoustic with a cutaway body and built-in tuner.

Ibanez AFS85T, lovely guitar, especially considering the price and the one that I tend to waste my time on. It can handle any type of music, even metal.
Schecter Hellraiser C-1 FR. Very powerful sound, so I mostly use this one for metal.
I know, it isn't a guitar, but I simply love my Weber Gallatin mandolin. Very versatile and wonderful sound. It totally drained my bank account when I bought it though

In no particular order:
Fender Telecaster
Fender (mexico-Ole") Jazz Bass
Fender Acoustic of unknown origin (japan? Korea?)
Dean EAB Acoustic/electric bass
Washburn Acoustic
Epiphone Strat style ripoff
Ibanez Bass
I also have a bunch of synthesizers, but that's for another thread.
I play original experimental rock. It's a lot easier than learning other people's music!

Ibanez RG 220 (I believe) My first guitar I wanted something not to expensive but effective. Always been a fan of Ibanez. Great sound, good quality, and the Line 6 amp really aids. Not as good as my brother's old line 6, but damn fine!

I've got more of this stuff than I could photograph! The absolute queen of the collection is my custom-made Hugh Manson fretless bass, see my icon. Hugh is luthier to Steve Howe, John Paul Jones, Martin Barre and many others.
If you ever see JPJ onstage with Them Crooked Vultures, you'll see the twin to my bass, his is "Eric the Red," a fretless one.
My main 6-string is a 1973 Les Paul Standard. I also have lots of amps including Mesa-Boogie, but these days, I mostly play through electronic amps and high-quality computer amplification systems. Much simpler and easier to control.

My playing has much improved since i cut down my gear to one good guitar and one good amp/cab instead of a collection of cheapo ones, less is more
For blues this lot is hard to beat, slinky strings for great bends, loads of sustain, high-ish action for great hammer-ons, cool tube tones
