Spiral - Post Rock/Math Rock from Poland

Spiral
came to life in year 2004, however the line-up that allowed fully effective work, stabilized in year 2006. Before that, many musicians played in the band and it had a few performances. Stabilisation of the line-up brought quick return to the stage. In September Spiral won "Rockowa Noc" contest which gave it the opportunity to record the first demo. In 2006 Spiral was the finalist of major rock contest in Poland: "Go Rock Festival" The year 2007 began with further changes in the line-up - new guitar player and manager. The demo has been released. The band took also part in final auditions to one of the greatest music festivals in Poland - Opole Debiuty At the end of 2007 and at the beginning of 2008 the band recorded new EP album, "Under The Cold". All the tracks are downloadable from the band's MySpace. After that, the band has participated in finals of international Carpathia PBS Bank Festival and took third place in Przestrzen Muzyki Live Festival in Zamosc. Next step was composing and recording a LP album released in Poland by well-known independent label Ars Mundi. "Urban Fable" is a concept album with a theme of a surrealistic fairy tale. The record met a warm reception by the listenerd and media. The album has won Antyradio's (the most notable alternative polish radio station) Polish Album Of The Year 2009 plebiscite. At present, Spiral is promoting its latest album and beginning to work on a new one.

Nice band. The music has post-rock influences, but it's mainly indie rock/metal. Very artsy.

Signal was rejected by Post-Rock team. Nice indie-pop-rock band with Post-rock elements, but not enough to be added.Sorry

Based solely on my listening to myspace (didn't download the album), yes, post-rock qualities within in alt./ indie/ pop rock context..  If it be Prog (whatever that means), then it be a form of NuProg.  I was listening to see if it might be suitable to pass on to Crossover, the listed influences point it in that direction, but it doesn't sound like more than prog related to me (which doesn't mean it's right for Prog Related either).
