Mutt. Big smile

Plenty of good ones needing adoption at your local shelter before they get "put to sleep".

Yeah, not really much of a choice here.

I've had two Labs, one chocolate and one yellow. Granted, they always pulled on their leashes and we never really broke them enough for them to be trained, although the first was very obedient minus the pulling. They by the gods they were/are the most gentle, warm, joyful, and friendly animals on the planet. There is not a word to fully relate the kind of unconditional loyalty and love a good dog can provide. Humans can't even come close. Humans disappoint. My first dog never disappointed. The second one is a little more free spirited. Wink

I only have cross breeds.  I think they are more healthy, hardy and often more intelligent.

It's interesting isn't it, that with regards to humans we know that it is not a good idea to mate with others from a closely related gene pool (our cousins etc).

But when it comes to dogs, the opposite seems to be desirable.

All domestic dogs originate from the grey wolf.  The further we mutate them from this origin, the more unnatural and freakish the result.

One we got rid of because she was troublesome, the other is my brother's and we still have him. He's great, except he's impervious to house training. LOL

I like most Spitz-type breeds because of their 'wolf-like' appearance, but I simply hate toy dogs/lapdogs. They're freaks.

Bassets are awesome as well, even though they drool all over the place. Labradors are also great.

I've always had the impression that really small dogs are very resentful for being really small dogs. TongueLOL
Maybe they're just really afraid of being eaten what with that whole "hot dog" thing...

Yep, that's what inbreeding can do.
