Hello
I'm passing on the news that percussionist Morris Pert died at home in Sutherland on the North Coast
of Scotland, on the 27th of April.
Morris was a truly lovely guy, in recent years he has concentrated on composing, when we last spoke he was close to compleating his latest work, a commision for St Georges School in Edinburgh. A recent work Ankh is being performed regularly by John Kenny. He had just deliverd the master for his next release, Chromosphere, this I believe will be available through his US label Buckyball in the near future.
The world lost a unique tallent and I lost a good buddy.
Take care folks
Ian

Hi,

RIP indeed. The very best to his family.

I think a lot of us would love to have a legacy half that nice!

It's early in this forum, but let's not forget Pert's key contributions to the classic Brand X line-up. He meant as much to that group of lads as Mr. Collins. Also, it was always nice to discover he'd contributed some small part to someone else's album. God rest you, Sir.
