I just invented a new game. You take a person which is famous in a certain area but not that famous that everyone knows him or her. Then you offer five different possibilities what he or she might be famous for. I will start with an example: Who is Benito Garozzo? 1) Famous Italian motorcyclist; won the world cup five times (among other things) 2) Famous 19th century Italian actor in the commedia del arte; his role was the harlequin 3) Famous Italian bridge player; won the Bermuda bowl ten times (among other things) 4) Italian 16th century poet, nicknamed "Il Dante secondo". 5) Italian tennis player in the 1930s; won Wimbledon once. Please do not google; just guess and perhaps explain why you guessed that way. -------------  BaldJean and I; I am the one in blue. |

Since I have no clue and I am not allowed to google, I must let my associative thoughts take me for a ride.
I go for the 5th option: Garozzo makes me think of Garros makes me think of Roland Garros, another Grand Slam tournament.

I must correct myself: Not one bridge column, but many. He often played with another Italian named Belladonna, and they were maybe the world’s best bridge players at the time. I promise that I did not cheat, but of course I googled after I had answered. I suppose this means I must come up with a new one. I have a few ideas, but it will take some time. Can I choose a historic person, or does the person have to be alive? You are quite right; Benito Garozzo was a famous bridge player. He is now 83 years old and still plays bridge at BridgeBase (where lots of world class players play), and the table he plays at always has a huge crowd of spectators. He is affectionately called "Papi", and although of course at age 83 he no longer is what he used to be in his prime he still is a very good player (definitely better than Jean or I). Some experts consider him to be the greatest bridge player ever.

The name is familiar to me; I have definitely heard it before, but I can't exactly place her. However, figure skater seems to ring a bell for me, so I will go with that. Allow me to google afterwards, just to satisfy my curiosity.

Both Friede and I are fictional characters. That doesn’t mean we’re not real. As for yours, Anton … it’s not you, so I’ll rule out #5 (which is obviously you  ). I’ll also rule out the cat, the mother and the "all of the above"-option. So between the two that are left, I’ll go with #1.
