HI PROG FRIENDS, THIS IS CESAR INCA.

Unuckily, the march of time keeps on determining our cycles of life and death. Now it is the time to wave goodbye to BO HANSSON, precursor of prog rock in Sweden, he died on April 24th, just a few weeks after his 67th birthday.

His first three albums “Music Inspired by Lord of the Rings” “Ur trollkarlens hatt" (#Magician’s Hat”) and “Attic Thoughts" remain vital in a good progressive collection.

For those who can reed Swedish:    http://svt.se/2.27170/1.1979414/organisten_bo_hansson_avliden -

Thank you for the music, Master Hansson!!

oh no

Hansson was so important over many genres including an impact on film, World music, and jazz/fusion (and Prog of course).  One of the ten most important early prog artists to hear, IMO.

RIP, Bo, and thanks for the great work.

Oh that's a huge loss for the prog community.  His music was wonderful.  Condolences to his family and many friends.

I am so saddened by this terrible news. Bo Hansson introduced me to the magic of Scandinavia, to  hobbits long before modern day movie dramas, Findhorn, Attic Thoughts and last but not least the epic album covering Watership Down. A truly great Swedish genius. Your music will live on forever Bo Hansson.......you are with El- ahrairah now.

Cry
From the Gate of Kings the North Wind rides, and past the roaring falls;
And clear and cold about the tower its loud horn calls.
'What news from the North, O mighty wind, do you bring to me today?
What news of Boromir the Bold? For he is long away.'
'Beneath Amon Hen I heard his cry. There many foes he fought.
His cloven shield, his broken sword, they to the water brought.
His head so proud, his face so fair, his limbs they laid to rest;
And Rauros, golden Rauros-falls, bore him upon its breast.'
'O Boromir! The Tower of Gaurd shall ever northward gaze
To Rauros, golden Rauros-falls, until the end of days.'

Prog Sphere just completed an article concerning Bo Hansson's work (and life), as well as the artists/bands/albums that have been influenced by this truly prog legend. Find out more of Bosse's solo work, his collaboration with drummer Janne Karlsson and the artists/bands that inherited and discourse Bo Hansson's work. The article named Bo Hansson: A Retrospective with Eyes on the Future is on http://prog-sphere.blogspot.com/2010/05/bo-hansson-retrospective-with-eyes-on.html - http://prog-sphere.blogspot.com/2010/05/bo-hansson-retrospective-with-eyes-on.html
