I embrace music as an event, not just for the ears but a visual event as well. the clothes (or lack of) is just as important as the music itself.

Would this explain your need for gay prog bands and straight prog bands, depending on your mood?

I want my emotions to be stimulated when I go to live shows, otherwise what is the point; I could stay at home and listen to a CD. Are scissor sisters prog, they do a good live show. I like Rush too, with their washing machines on stage - stuff like that is good visuals and makes the show an event, lifts it up a gear from just a club show.

Really interesting stuff. Just a question: is it only the band members (no pun intended) or also the public that is naked? I'd be worried about sun burns in Egypt in July
I hope Yes are not playing in that festival: try to imagine Steve Howe and Chris Squire playing without... aaaarrrggghhh....

I know that Alan Parsons played at a naturist festival a few years back.

I hope it was a hot day.

Holy wow, that woman is...shall we say, blessed! I have liked Hawkwind for a long time, but I had no idea they had such an interesting live act back then. I wish I had a time machine.

My brother tells me he saw Hawkwind at his student union around 1970 and the drummer started the set starkers. Trouble for him this was the student union of a teaching hospital in London - the drummer got booed off stage and the audience told him to get his kit on - they saw enough deformed naked bodies during the day, and refused to have more on their evenings off!

I think we could probably talk Arena into playing for us!

Rob especially seems like he'd be up for a lively time!

Maybe Camel could perform their 1981 concept album as nature intended (I wouldn't complain if Heather Findlay or Fernanda from Ashtar provided the backing vocals).
With best wishes

Go listen to Britney Spears or whatnot.
At least some proggers are smart enough to realize it ís the music that only matters.

(I haven't read the posts before my own, therefore have no idea whether this was stated or not, so forgive me.)
From the band Tool, Maynard James Keenan sings with bra and underwear on occasion at live performances.

Does anyone have the salival dvd? There is a secret video for hush that has the band naked with parental advisory logos covering their parts. And their mouths have been taped over to fit with "i cant say what i want to" lyrics. Cool stuff.

How can you say that? The music is only 10% of what matters, the other 120% is down to the looks of the band and their style. I'm glad you mentioned Britney , she is one of my icons. She puts looks way above music, which is precisely how it should be.

Yeah, the dvd had that video, but you can pretty much find it anywhere. I even think they have on the band's website, but I can't be sure.
