I'm a keyboard player who's planning to start looking for gigs soon, but am a complete newbie as far as tech goes- what should I be looking for in an amp? Right now, my main concern is budget- I'm a college student, and money is a bit tight.

I'm using an M-Audio ProKeys 88 keyboard, if that makes a difference.

P.S. There's a Fender keyboard amp for sale at a small mom-and-pop place about a block from where I live for $125- is that a good deal/good idea?

I had to replace mine recently due to house flood.  I wasn't looking for a gig amp but I got a Behringer.  I don't know how loud it can get as I am currently in an apartment.  Here's the scoop on it.  What's really funny is that it can simulate other amps, my new guitar effects box simulates amps, my new sequencer simulates amps, WTF???? LOL

If you plug into the PA and get a lightweight pair of in-ear earbud headphones, you'll have better monitoring than you'll ever get with an amp, and protect your ears from damage at the same time...
