I'm a keyboard player who's planning to start looking for gigs soon, but am a complete newbie as far as tech goes- what should I be looking for in an amp? Right now, my main concern is budget- I'm a college student, and money is a bit tight. I'm using an M-Audio ProKeys 88 keyboard, if that makes a difference. P.S. There's a Fender keyboard amp for sale at a small mom-and-pop place about a block from where I live for $125- is that a good deal/good idea? |

I had to replace mine recently due to house flood. I wasn't looking for a gig amp but I got a Behringer. I don't know how loud it can get as I am currently in an apartment. Here's the scoop on it. If you plug into the PA and get a lightweight pair of in-ear earbud headphones, you'll have better monitoring than you'll ever get with an amp, and protect your ears from damage at the same time...
