I haven't had much luck finding new good bands lately, so I thought I'd give you guys a chance to enlighten me.
My absolute favorites in progressive music are the following bands:

1. Collage
2. Arena
3. Circus Maximus
4. Dream Theater (who doesn't)
5. Transatlantic

Thanks for your time!

OK so itīs neo, progressive metal and symphonic. Hmm... I would take the best rated albums in those genres to begin with. Most of those deserve their place among the highest rated albums in their genre.

Have you tried the other big neo-prog bands? (Marillion, IQ, Pallas etc.) What about Rush? They're the only thing close to metal I like- oh and Spinal Tap.

Excellent recommendations there. I would add Fates Warning and Pain of Salvation as well. Great starters for a DT fan!
