^ Two questions . . . how long have you owned these CDs, and are they store bought, or CD-Rs?

EDIT: Sorry, just now realized what you said about the second disc. If it's brand new, then I have no idea. Embarrassed I've gotten that grainy sound too, but it's typically if the disc itself is corroding. CD-Rs are more likely to go wrong, because they use dye rather than foil (as far as I am aware). I have yet for any professionally stamped CDs to get grainy on me, but a helluva lot of CD-Rs have.

When things go wrong on the computer I keep trying different things until I get it to behave.  Have you tried ripping to different bit rates or a different file format?  Or even just ripping it over using the same settings.  Sounds like your files may have generated corrupted. Also, is this just a problem with your latest CDs?  Try going back to the last CD that ripped OK and re rip a track and see if it has the same problem.  Then I'd suspect either an operating system or hardware problem.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I have tried re-ripping- and also importing via Media player and importing it on itunes- the funny thing is, is that the CD played fine in my dvd player.
