If something like that was the outcome, I'd be all for it. However, some people can turn really nasty when such discussions occur. I also believe the site rules discourage attacks against bands or artists - which are generally inevitable in threads of that kind. |

Seconded. If ANYONE out there would like to defend St. Anger or Love Beach as landmarks of music (even, no, especially the artists), they should go for it!
Someone can love a band and still rate a particular album lowly...

I'll defend Love Beach to the last, and go as far to say I think its a four star album on some days. 
If not for the album art I think it'd be taken more seriously -------------

Love Beach may not be a landmark of music, but it does have one thing going for it. It isn't In The Hot Seat. I think the reason Love Beach gets such a bad rap has less to do with the music than with the hideous cover. Here's a thought: You may generate more interest assembling a list of the 100 least progressive albums. I just ran across this in Wikipedia: "Love Beach, along with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yes_%28band%29 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tormato - , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genesis_band - , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...And_Then_There_Were_Three... - , and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Moody_Blues - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octave_%28album%29 - , are considered by critics to be an example of the shift of progressive rock to a more commercial sound." I'd easily add Too Old to Rock N' Roll: Too Young to Die to that list. There's five already!

Come on, Love Beach deserves at least 3 stars for the cover alone The first side is excellent, if you remember that ELP is a fun and crazy band, the track "Taste of my Love" is horribly cheesy but I love it for that reason. In topic - still nothing ? No one wants Worst 100 albums list ? Note that for example IMDB has such a list. And when listing countries by GDP on wikipedia, I always look first for the poorest ones (just out of curiosity). It's simply in human nature, to look who's more poor than you. They say that tabloid magazines are amongst most sold ones. Who knows, but it proves something. People like dirt. Maybe if we make it 'worst albums by bands you actually like' we might get a better (or at least more objective) list.

Oh god, Merci  I would add Le Orme's "Venerdi" and "Biancaneve" (the same awful album, re-released under a new name incase you managed to avoid buying it the first time). Apparently the album inbetween ("Orme") is even worse, but I haven't the heart to listen to it. Also, "Time-Line" by Renaissance. Even the worst albums out there have good things about them... Especially bad albums made by good artists; they cant help but have at least a few good things in their music...
What I want to find is a band that consistently releases one-star material! XD
Too bad I'm not a PA-certified artist...

| All you need is to add a "by lowest rating" option to the search engine. People here tend to be pretty polite though, for many years the lowest rating is a 3.5 or so. |
