Really great band, I can't stop listening to them lately. Top songwriting and by far some of the tightest musicians I've ever heard. So SLICK as well! Plus they have (had) a world class bass player, Stuart Zender.

Any fans in here?

I always liked them, but never went beyond seeing their singles on the TV.

Never was impressed by them, but I was only exposed to their hits, so maybe I could change my mind listening to their other stuff.
However, I am not that crazy on "new" funk stuff, I am more into the classics like The Meters, James Brown, Maceo Parker, early Kool & the Gang, Funkadelic, Eddie Hazel...nonetheless Vampisoul has some interesting new artists under its wings, fortunately sounding very "70s".
Regarding the eighties : the funk-punk of Gang of Four, James Chance and the Contortions, Fishbone, early RHCP.

No, this one bores me to death.

The first track you posted is disco/funk and doesn't do anything to me, a voice that I can't bear and very weak compared to the tenors of funk.

If you want "serious" new funk bands, check out Speedometer, Lefties soul connection, Sharon Jones & the Dap-kings, or the Sweet Vandals.

I love their first two albums. Great funk/acid jazz band.

Bands like Down to the Bone and Incognito are excellent too, if you like Jamiroquai's early albums:

Good band. I'm not a big fan but I like some of their songs, especially the singles from Travelling without moving.

Can't stand Jim Iroquois but I do like Stevie Wonder's music from the 70s.
