Me too I had follow them since early 90's. So the only band that I can think that might sound a bit similar is
Hydra Spacefolks. However, Ozric are quiet original so I can't say that Hydra are clones or if there is another band out there that makes music like Ozric.Wink

I'd recommend you check out my Belgian friends Quantum Fantay - if you like the Ostrich Testicles (as my wife calls them!  B->), I think you'll dig QF.

All the best

Ooh!  If we're going down that road Misomex, I'd recommend Shpongle & Younger Brother too.

I know that the reviews everybody post here are supposed to help us get to know an album or an artist better, but, with some of them, I don't get much on to guide me.

I wish there was something at the end of an artist's page that pointed out similar artists or influences or followers of that particular artist or genre. (This isn't rocket science, allmusic.com already does it but they don't cover a tenth of the prog bands that are listed here)

My two cents... Rock on!

I do love it too..I saw Ozric on Progday 2009 in Chapel Hill/NC.I t was a great show.they stopped playing because there´s no lights at the  stage Unhappy :-(  as the Progday is an event in an old farm. They are now located in Colorado USA and the members changed, now Ed is playing with his wife and son and  an american dummer !
some bands like Osric  are  The Orb, Orbitlal, Leftfiled, Aphex Twins ,and many others ..all from UK

Ozric on Progday 2009...enjoy it !

Gong is the obvious source of inspiration of the Ozrics
Djam Karet is the band you need to discover!

Just discovered this site that seems to work quite well - have have comparison sites in the past & most are way out when comparing bands. This seems not to stick to specific genres so much as normal - quick link to youtube as well.Just checked for Ozric Tenticles - some of the artists I mentioned above are there anyway.

I like Ozric but considering their extensive discography of similar albums brings up the question why do you need similar bands?

I see a couple of mentions of Djam Karet.  I don't really consider them to have much in common with OT other than being an instrumental outfit, still a band more should check out.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Djam Karet's stuff is not all like the Ozrics - some of it more of the ambient end of space rock, some of the newer stuff is more towards the heavy prog side. They definately are into Gong type of stuff though & there a bit of Techno mixed in with it sometimes - which is when they get very similar to Ozrics. They seem to have developed their sound quietly over the years but with no big jumps from album to album.
