Hey, no way would they be considered "Prog" per-se, but the Progressive influences are absolutely there. Altogether just a great band that I would recommend to anyone that likes Rock music in general.
When I heard the Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, AND John Paul Jones made a band I almost shat myself. (I had to go check just to make sure I hadn't, in fact, shat myself.)
And then the cd didn't leave my player until 3 days ago... effing excellent cd.

Not prog AT ALL. It's a good rock album. A record doesn't need to be prog to be good.

Pretty good, I had low expectations, as the last few QOTSA albums have been weak. JPJ and Grohl help push Josh Homme in a positive direction for sure. A very solid rock album.

Good, solid rock album, but not nearly as awsome as I expected it to be.

So was I. However, two separate colleagues thrust their copies of the CD in my hands over the next week, insisting I checked TCV out. Asa result I heard something far more interesting; the fans admit that was a bad choice of tune to play live on Wossy. My daughter saw them (unbilled!!) last August at The Leeds Festival and was bowled over. My most played album over Christmas. If you like Queens of The Stone Age, you'll like this.

Very good album, quirky and unusual. I was never that struck by QoTSA but this is much better.

Haha credible how??
Hey I'm no Nirvana, Foo Fighters, or QOTSA fanboy.. (Led Zeppelin is a different story)
But this CD succeeded for me in MAKING Josh Homme and Dave Grohl suddenly credible.

This. Decent, but I don't plan to listen to it much.
Rated R is still where it's at for Homme.

It's a good album but slightly less than the sum of its parts.

JPJ has always been a cool guy. Back with Zep, he was always the calm, quiet guy holding it all together. I might check this out.

I was expecting much more...To me when I compare this release/band hype to that of Chickenfoot.....I think the latter won out.
TCV was a let down to me, so glad I only downloaded the album and did not buy the CD. And yes the download was legal thru Zune Marketplace......I have since removed it from my collection.
