When David (now Dee) Palmer left Jethro Tull in 1980, he briefly formed a new band called TALLIS with John Evan. Music websites tell me that "this was not a commercial succes", but does anyone know what kind of music they performed? Did they record anything? Did anyone see them live?

The recent release of the MADISON SQUARE GARDEN live DVD reminded me how cleverly JT incorporated a very English-sounding fugue into "Sweet Dream". This was almost certainly the work of arranger David Palmer, who probably also convinced the band to perform "The Dambusters March" and similar pieces. It made me wonder what else Palmer might have done - especially with two keyboardists!
