The article is written in Italian, but it seems that Aldo Tagliapietra is going to stop his presence in future activities of Le Orme

The message tells he suspends his activities with Le Orme, while the band confirms participation in booked events (I did not understand - with or without Aldo). I saw Tagliapietra and Le Orme in Veruno (Italy) in early september and I remember Aldo saying that they were going to give an "announce" or something like that in the upcoming months.
I should say I found Le Orme's performance that evening musically perfect but Aldo's voice was a bit rough and without enough strength to catch the high notes on some songs. They played some of their best (Cemento Armato, La Porta Chiusa, an abridged version of Felona & Sorona), but half of the show consisted in ballads, where Aldo's voice isn't too much stressed. Hope he's not ill, but that performance left me with a back tought that he simply is too old for singing... "All things must pass" as G. I'm pretty sure that Aldo is fine, he's currently on tour with Alex Carpani. Also he's supposedly the "owner" of the band name, or so I'm told, thus it's highly unlikely that we'll see the band without him! If you haven't heard his solo "Indian" project yet, "Il Viaggio" I highly recommend it. Aldo is a great sitar player now, btw. He's been learning in Calcutta and the result is magic. Yesterday Le Orme without Aldo Tagliapietra performed live at MEI Faenza, Italy for about 40 mins. Unfortunately I wasn't there when they were playing! Shame! (it was an indie label fair and I couldn't leave my stand). They had a substitute singer, and called themselves RMS or something of the sort. I just can't imagine Orme without Aldo. His voice is such a critical aspect of my enjoyment of that band. In most bands I would not care about a different vocalist. But Aldo is special to the Orme sound.

I refused to believe in Aldo's departure, strange decision, especially after good albums like "Elementi" and "L'infinito". But it happened. Who knows, maybe he'll return someday. His latest solo album "Il viaggio di Aldo Tagliapietra" with lots of sitar playing is interesting, but in my opinion not as strong as Le Orme's works. There is info, on Aldo's site, that currently he plays in concerts songs from Le Orme's first album, "Ad Gloriam". Looks like he does not know which way to go. Anyway I'm curious how the band sounds with Metamorfosi singer and ordered a copy of official bootleg.
