THE TANGENT: The new http://po90.com/pub/index.html - Tangent album "Down And Out In Paris And London" will be released on November 16th in Europe.

"Its an album of sequels" says Andy Tillison, "but only in a lyrical sense. I've tried to revisit some of stories and songs we've had in the past and update them - and one of the songs called "Where Are They Now" is a series of updates on some of the characters we've mentioned before, including "Earnest" from our earlier songs. There's also a "Canterbury Sequence Part 2" - we had a lot of requests for that. Musically its one of the most spontaneous things we've done, in that a lot of the album was composed on the fly from improvisations. Its been our biggest technical challenge yet.!

They have a new drummer (Paul Burgess) and bass player (Jonathon Barrett).

I have never heard of the new drummer and bassist.I'm a little disappointed that some of the guys from Beardfish won't be joining them,as was originally reported awhile ago.

They did announce a couple of months ago that the arrangement with Beardfish just wouldn't work logistically and they were shelving the idea for the time being.

Good news this, I love The Tangent, and I'm glad the tie up with Beardfish has been shelved, having seen them live togethor I thought the second keybaord and guitar players were redundant and the rhythm section could match those they replaced.

Still, a new Tangent album is always something to look forward to and the improv nature of it sounds interesting.
