I just noticed that Snobb had to add John Zorn's album Naked City to review it. Which strikes me as strange, because the last time I looked, Naked City was his highest and most reviewed album. Where did it go? Is Naked City getting its own band page?

Snobb's reviews should be relocated, the new entries deleted.

I thought that was a little odd. Trying to sneak in a "first review" eh?

Okay, cool. I did a search for Naked City, and nothing particularly artisty showed up. So I figured perhaps it was in transit or something.
Well, good news. Zorn's page is a nightmare, so anything that cleans it up a bit is appreciated. Heh.

According to signs (Naked City and Painkiller already split), Masada and the other major solidly-independent projects (or bands) could follow.

Good news. Also, these albums should follow to the Naked City page:

Yeah, we seperated Naked City and gave them their own spot, as well as another Zorn band too. I guess Snobby didn't know that. I sent him a PM and tried to fix things, I'll try to follow up on Mr Eternity's suggestions too.
P.S. Please keep me informed of any other messes in the Zorn section, it really needs cleaning up. If someone wants to write a Masada bio I will give them a seperate entry too. - thanks

Might as well keep it in an already existing area, but... where are the album covers in Naked City? None of them are visible.

This happened with Painkiller as well, I don't know if they got lost in the transfer or something...they'll obviously have to be replaced.

Also, I do want to again give credit to Captain Capricorn who is sort of leading this effort and doing a lot of work (bios, etc.) to clean up the database regarding Zorn and his projects. And also to Easy Money who is the point man on admin for doing the dirty work on these transfers.

Yeah, looks to me like Painkiller and Naked City are mere warm-up acts compared to the massive amounts of Masada music. Should be lovely. Well, I've done what little I know to do to help out, hopefully it's actually been helpful.
You know, it's kind of funny, but I really disliked Naked City and haven't gotten much of a chance to try out his other stuff yet. Masada I'm interested in, though. But I find it strange that I'm so intrigued by this project despite not actually having that much stake in the whole thing. Perhaps something of his will appeal to me eventually. We'll see.

Spillane alone is bliss.

Bah. Of course. Spillane sat on the used shelf at the local CD store for a month, and I considered it a bunch of times... But I was burnt out by my lack of success with Naked City. And then they went out of business. Lameness.
Is it a jazz offering? Jazz is what I'm looking for. I understand Masada is a very jazzy outfit.

Spillane is all over the place, but not in the same way that Naked City is all over the place. If I were going to call it anything then I'd call it jazz, but it far outsteps that category on several occasions ...there are decided leanings to strip joint & bar jazz, as well as experimentation with string quartets & rock arrangements, but none of it is any where near the chaotic outbursts for which Naked City is known. I can't recommend it more highly!
