According to Alex Lifeson in "Classic Rock presents: Prog" Rush will start recording this fall and could even go in as early as September.  I only have one thing to say to this: YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH! I am very excited about this news and can't wait to go see them next summer, don't try and stop me from going there's no way I'm not going.  Here is a snippet from the interview:

"Tentatively, we start work on the next album in the fall - I did mention it to Ged before he went away on holiday and he sort of looked the other way. Come September and we'll certainly have some plans, we did the last record, or we started on the last album in the fall and I'd like to do that again, start recording maybe. I don't know who might produce, that's some ways off yet."

Wow did not expect this to be happening with Neil's oncoming child. Good news though.

Yeah well ged and alex might just record their parts before Neil records the drum parts or something, but I'm not gonna put this down to a science because I'm just happy that there releasing another album and I can go see them next summer. Nice name from Rand's "Anthem" by the way equality, one of my favorite books of all time.

Which if funny given how anti-Rand Peart began to become from the 80s.

I'm semi-pumped, though I can't say I thought Snakes and Arrows was all that incredible.  Still, it was by no means bad, and I'm sure the boys of Rush will continue to give us some good music.

How did peart really ever become anti-rand equality? Hes till says that he's politically close to objectivism only he "is noones disciple", which is a kind of rand-ish thing to do, and songs like freewill are clearly objectivist, same thinng with Mission from hold your fire.

Yes, I agree. Snakes & Ladders is, to these ears, a very average Rush album, and I simply cannot make out why people rate it as their best work in ages.

I though Snakes and Arrows was actually pretty decent. Probably my favorite since GUP, but none of those in between really did much for me anyway. It's just a solid rock album.

Do it right boys or don't do it at all.  The money grab is becoming a little transparent at this point.

I really hate to be negative ,but I'm not too jazzed about it ! The last Rush album I really enjoyed was 85's "Power Windows" .Their DVD stuff was cool though as there was a lot of "old stuff" on them.

this is really cool news, i just find it almost remarkable how a band can keep producing fresh material after this many years without repeating themselves. it will be an awesome record.
