Subject: New PA project

I want to start a PA project with as many instruments I can find, for a massive, full sound, which will be very raw. Everything will be user-made, no prepared songs, no prepared album covers, no prepared line-up, I will just do what I think is right, when I can.

I play the guitar, bass, drums, and basic piano. I play the flute a little, but I'm gonna learn it so I will improve and will be able to contribute to this. Please read the line-up before applying, as I don't want 15 oboes, 32 guitars, and 5645969045 drummers.

Wanted line-up:
2-3 guitarists, rich sound like the Wishbone Ash harmonies.
1 drummer, I don't want it to be like those annoying 2 drummer bands.
1 bassist, again, I dont want a lot of people in my project playing the same instrument.
2-6 vocalists, the 1st being the lead male singer, and the 2nd preferrably female, for a distinct sound. The rest will provide harmonies.
1 keyboardist, preferrably someone who has a Hammond organ, a Moog, or a Wurlitzer.
1 flautist, will probably me.
1 oboe player, if there are any in here...

More instruments to come..

How about Coverdale-esque vocals, but without Coverdale's vocal range? Wink

I can play mouth-guitar pretty well, however very used to do wah-wah solos, some pretty cool mouth-drums, though not very good on smooth things or time signatures, and as for mouth-bass, I can rock with it, just like John Entwistle.

I refuse to play anything, but I could make unpleasant sounds with my laptop or read silly poems with a monotonic voice.

(I'm also a rather brilliant singer. Approve)

Do you have anything sketched out musically? I find this group-grope thing fascinating. Do share.

yep you should show your ideas, outakes, sheet music, etc...

I wouldn't join a band I don't like or participate on a project I don't know

Some questions:
1) Do you plan to do some rehearsals? If "yes", I guess you're looking for musicians located in the same area than you.

2) "No prepared songs"? Do you mean you want to create the songs with the future musicians?

3) "No prepared line-up"?

I can MAYBE do bass (I'm not that good) and I can MAYBE do some sort of vocals (again, not that good).

There have been some other interesting projects.  Perhaps the guys from The Moody Noobs http://www.myspace.com/themoodynoobs - http://www.myspace.com/themoodynoobs and Anachronism http://www.myspace.com/stctotheextreme - http://www.myspace.com/stctotheextreme will offer some advice.]

HEY! I'M a Moody Noob! I can play flute to a certain extent too. Uh...how complex are we talking here? I'm mostly a FEEL player, which pisses the crap out of my woodwinds instructor in my recurring college course.

If no one else wants it, I can be dropped to rhythm guitarist. Acoustic would probably be prefered.

1. No rehearsals whatsoever, once we get the song written (see 2) we will reherase it by audio.

2. It means I plan on recording and writing the songs with the band (see 3) when they are ready (see 3).

3. It means the line-up of the band is not prepared, and spots are still open.

Admin Note:

I am becoming concerned that this "project" is not as serious as it would at first appear, and I may ask the OP to remove the "PA" from the title very soon.

For it to remain in this section I would like to see some kind of explanation of exactly how these "rules" will work and how the "project" will every produce music based on those rules when the band members are scattered to the four courners of the planet.

If it should become another Moody Noobs or STC thread then to the Funny Pages it shall go. Stern Smile
