Here is DVD by THE DOORS OF 21st CENTURY "L.A. Woman Live" recorded in 2003:  http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=22706 - http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=22706

Line-up:
- Robby Krieger / guitars
- Ray Manzarek / keyboards
- Ian Astbury / vocals
- Ty Dennis / drums
- Angelo Barbera / bass

I don't think it is a valid addition to THE DOORS discography.

It's got two original members and they play songs of The Doors. Maybe in tribute albums?

No, that's another story.
Krieger and Manzarek decided to tour with The Doors songs. They invited singer Ian Astbury. John Densmore refused to participate in the project.
To prevent accusations in illegal use of THE DOORS name, they called their band THE DOORS OF 21st CENTURY.

I own this DVD and it's not bad at all, but I think it does not belong to THE DOORS discography and it is not a tribute.
Even if it was a tribute, site rules recommend to add only albums dedicated to prog artists (not to proto-prog or prog related ones).

I know it's not a tribute per se but I thought that for lack of a better place... But I think it's valid for the reasons I posted above.

I agree with Tuz. It has two members and they seem to think that they are The Doors themselves. Who are we to deny them?

Formal logic tells me "The Doors" and "The Doors of the 21st Century" are different names. Wink
We are only members of Errors and Omissions team and I agree, it is not in our competence to make a decision.

I think we should report this item to Proto-Prog team, let they decide, what is right: to have this DVD in THE DOORS discography, make a separate entry or delete it.

But so are "Emerson, Lake & Palmer" and "Emerson, Lake & Powell". Wink

^ You're right, though in case of ELPowell I can understand the compromise.
There are some other examples like "Queen" and "Queen + Paul Rogers".

Anyway I think we should follow some rules. Otherwise the whole Ian Gillan discography sooner or later will be added to IAN GILLAN BAND (the only Gillan solo project added to PA).
