Frost are easily my best discovery of 2009.  Only two albums to choose from, but plenty of great songs.

My favourite 5 are:-

1.  Black Light Machine
2.  Dear Dead Days
3.  Hyperventilate
4.  Milliontown
5.  Welcome To Nowhere

Odd, on the surface I wouldn't really lump The Flower Kings and Frost* together musically, yet it seems like they have a similar set of fans...odd.

With that being said:

1)  Black Light Machine (which completes the hat trick)
2)  Dear Dead Days

3)  Toys
4)  No Me No You
5)  Milliontown

I know Toys isn't horribly proggish, it sounds vaguely Foo Fighterish, but it's a great rocker for me.

Excellent choices guys Clap just as I'd expect from you two.  I knew the three of us have really good taste Approve. Tom, I have a lot to thank you for with your recommendation of Frost*.

Black Light Machine really is a phenomenal piece, stunningly modern-sounding too.  It really is one of the most inspiring pieces of music I've ever heard.

I don't know if you guys have the special edition of EIMA, but on the bonus DVD with the making of EIMA, watching Jem work miracles as he programmed the keyboards to accomodate Black Light Machine was something else.

Love the Frost*! I listened to Milliontown just a bit ago. Phenomenal album. Pick any five from the first release. The second release was good but not really any special. It ticks me off there are no toms on EiMA.

^^ Roj, I'm only about half way through the bonus material so I haven't come to the Black Light programming bit, though why would he be talking about the Black Light bit on EIMA?  Just referencing it or something?

^ StyLaZyn, See, the lack of toms on EIMA didn't bother me, to a certain extent, I think it made Andy Edwards work stand out a little.  I think the snare work on "Pocket Sun" is phenominal; I don't think it'd be quite as noticable with the addition of toms.

It was when they were preparing to do some live gigs in 2008.

Now I'm no computer/tech whizz-kid Geek but it was jaw-dropping.  Hearing all the different keyboard parts on their own was really interesting.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the Making of EIMA, it's very interesting and goes on for ages.  Most of these bonus discs can be a bit naff but I found this one pretty good.  Jem is officially crazy LOL

2. Dear Dead Days(/Falling Down)
3. Black Light Machine
4. Pocket Sun

I LOVE this band. One of my favorite new bands I've discovered in the past couple years. Both albums are masterpieces IMO.
