Some duplicated entries:

1. Deep Purple "Come Hell or High Water" DVD already existed:  http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=9170 - , another one should be deleted http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=23894 -
2. Rainbow "Live In Germany 1976" http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=13711 - In my opinion it was enough to mention (what I just did) that US version has been also released in 1996 under the title "Live In Europe" instead of adding new entry.
I think this item:  http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=21687 -  should be deleted.

EDIT: Fixed by admins.

Pat Metheny has two albums with duplicate entries - Zero Tolerance for Silence and Speaking of Now.

The Zero Tolerance album was released in 1994 so the 1992 entry should be deleted. Not sure on the other one.

I'm guessing you can, but will lose the rating. But would you do it? Its one rating, regarding one of the Pat Metheny's above.

http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=608 - http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=608   On the Henry Cow page, In Concerto is listed not once, not twice, but three times.  Two are in the Official Singles/EPs/etc. section and one is in the album section; two have the same track listing and one is different.  Seems a bit confusing, might need some looking into.

I think ,this one should could be deleted as duplicate. It is same "Devotion" album , but with different cover and name. So, in fact it could be deleted, and just info about it could be placed as re-release to Devotion page. If you agree, just delete it and I will fill Devotion with addition info.

Yes,Eugene, I know Smile. It happened because I tried to fill album's info in orginal language (songs are titled in  russian only, using cyrilic letters for sure). After I filled album info and tried to submit, I got a message that there is mistake No.  ..., and album could not be submited. I changed some places ( for example, just translated album name and filled it in english), tried to submit again. Same result. After few times, I found at least acceptable combination, and got positive answer after submiting album's info. But when I opened all band's page, I realised, that all versions of album,I tried to input and got negative result, are on it!!! So, it's more problem with a system, not I was so stupid or drunk to repeat the same mistake again and again (joke)!
By the way, I reported that problem at once, some days ago, because the page looks really terrible.Still waiting...

There is a difficult case there: Medeski Martin and Wood album Zaebos is placed in two places:

http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=19780 - http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=19780

http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=24777 - http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=24777

Both placings has their logic.  The placing under their own names is usual. The second placing is on John Zorn section. John Zorn is known by managing different musicians for his musical projects ( and often, as in case with Zaebos album, he doesn't playing on album himself at all). According to it's release info, this album is of John Zorn's serie Book of Angels ( what is written on cover), Vol. 11. Cover design is as of other albums from Book of Angels serie, and John Zorn name is stated on cover as well.

So, in my opinion, this album is a strange case, when even if only musicians are Medeski Martin and Wood, it should be placed on John Zorn's site. But even in opposite case, I think it could be only placed in one of two places. Happily, in both the album still isn't reviewed, but the decision should be made asap!If we will live everything as it is we will have terrible situation one day: the same album could have different ratings depending on which place it is placed!

Marillion's http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=11804 - From Stoke Row to Ipanema DVD is listed twice. The setlists are the same in both entries and refer to a 2DVD edition, but the total time is different. I haven't got the DVD myself, so I don't know which entry is correct or if there is a VHS edition available. The years of release mentioned in the entries are 1983(?), 1990 and 2003.

^ thanks joel, but it looks like there is enough new material to justify it having it's own entry seperate from the original.

It's tricky, because besides the various remixes of the same material or various alternate takes of the same material, there are also two live recordings. It could have been a compilation, indeed, but I'd say that we should take into account the publisher's intentions, too. This is definitely not regarded as a compilation by the publisher, but as a very rich, "expanded" reissue of the same album. I'd say we should only update the release information of the original release and delete this new entry. We must remember that the new material is 99% not original material, only variations of the same (remixes, alternate takes, live recordings). This always goes to "bonus", according to PA policy.

No, that is the PA policy as it was explained to me too some time ago. I don't mind if we change it, though.

However I am surprised by you suggesting me to chill after posting two polite and reasoned posts that contradict your stand. I am very chilled, do I seem otherwise? Geek

Thanks for looking after the site Alex, but after taking the time to check out what's on this CD, I'd say the hardcore KC fan like myself would find at least 2 Cds worth of new and interesting material on here. It's not a compilation at all, but until we have a better category, that's it's best fit.

Looks like these are two editions of the same album:

../album.asp?id=14881">
3.50 | 6 ratings

2007
../album.asp?id=26346"> not rated
../album.asp?id=26346 - Book Of Days
2008

Track-lists in both entries are completely the same. The line-ups are different though... Confused

The best I can tell, these are the same two albums, just reissued by different companies (I've looked into this issue fairly extensively; I also have the first 2007 edition, and it appears to be the same as the second album dated 2009):

(This second one has more complete data regarding personnel and album times, and has a review)

There is the same album ( the first one is original release, the second one is just re-release, track list is the same, cover picture is the same, just all text is translated in English, whenever it is Musea Records 2001 CD re-release). First one (with Russian text) is original, the second one should be deleted.

The same album, one under the Masada header, the other in the Secret Chiefs 3 page. Interesting. Another example of why we should be able to hotlink an album under two different performers.

The same situation as above is with another John Zorn's Masada series album:

http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=24777 - http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=24777

and

http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=19780 - http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=19780

I believe that both cases aren't easy: Masada released all line of albums recorded by other artists. So, no strabge they are placed in both discogs in few cases. I think , there the principal decision should be done.

By the way, I reported this problem around a month ago. There for sure the best decision will be to have a link between same albums in two artists discographies (if technically possible). If not, I think possibly it is better to leave albums in original artists discographies, not in Masada. This decision will be more practical: it is easier just to control Masada discogs only ( and clean it time to time from these albums additions), than to control all separate artists pages.
