I am looking for a nice acoustic guitar in the 300 to 500 dollar range. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Taylor.... I own their "Baby Taylor" model; can't recommend it enough.

That depends on what you want to do with it ... recording, playing outdoors, hanging on a wall looking pretty ...

If it is a steel string you are looking for I would suggest a second hand model. For that price range in a used guitar you will get a better action and it won't kill your fingers, holding down the strings.

my Ovation GC O57 ('Celebrity') is great for the price (about $350 I believe); well made, stays in tune, has good action, a cutaway for access to the high neck, a nice trimline shape to the body, and a built-in tuner.. it's perfect if you want an easy to play, bright sounding acoustic, and is especially good for electric guitar players

Seconded...
I bought a Takamine steel string new, and my fingers died for the first few weeks ![LOL LOL](smileys/smiley36.gif)

My current one is a really cheap Yahmaha classical. It's getting on in age and is a bit beat up, but dang, it's been durable.

| This is a very good recommendation. and for the price range the performance can't be beat. They seem to last quite a while before having to upgrade anything. It's like your paying for that security of having an acoustic around that remains to be reliable.

This!!! I own one as well. It was the best impulse buy I've ever made. You can probably find one for about $300 on craigslist. Then, take it to a professional shop to get it set up (very important).

This would be my choice:

I know it's a little bit steep, but in return the recording sounds are really versatile.
