Hey everyone,
I was wondering about something. For this summer's project, I am planning on doing a project; writing and recording an album. Being that I am a progressive music listener, it would be a fair assumption to guess that the music (when it is done) would have progressive tendencies in it. Keeping this in mind, I'd like to open this to the masses, and ask the question: What would make the perfect style of music/album?

While the final cut would obviously be decided by what my own mind can conjure up, I'm interested to see what other adept music listeners would be looking for.

What are traits you look for in good music?

What emotions work best with the music you like to listen to?

What styles are interesting to hear in new music?

Should a great album have a concept/storyline behind it, or work as single songs?

I was just wondering, because I was thinking towards the end of the summer when the project is finished, I would upload the entire project onto a site such as myspace music and give a link to prog archives for prog fans to listen to. Keeping that in mind, I am more than open for feedback, suggestions and some form of direction! =D

Anything goes for me - as long as it's good music. Good luck!
