Hiya.

I've got a strange problem I need help with. See, I've got a few Steve hackett albums, actually, I'll list them here: Defector, To watch the storms, Voyage of the acolyte and Wild Orchids.

I recently ripped my cds to my computer, and got a new laptop, so I transferred all my music there, and quite frankly think I lost some at that. I remember there used to be one song on one of these albums that sounded a bit like Johnny Cash in a sense. Now I thought it was To a Close from Wild Orchids, but it totally is not.

I cannot check the original albums because they're all packed away, I'm moving away to a new place, and basically all my cds are away for about two months. So, anyone have any idea what song I'm talking about?

thanks

-Tuomas--

I only have Voyage of the Acolyte from those few. I also know very little about what Johnny Cash sounds like. That being said, the only song off VotA it could be is "The Hermit." The song is on youtube if you want to see if that's the one you're thinking of.

I think you're talking about the Bob Dylan cover: Man In The Long Black Coat.  "Well people don't live or die, people just float..."

What's my prize?LOL

That's possible.
My usual method is to stick some of the lyrics into google and see what it comes up with.  I do this when I hear something good on the radio and they don't tell me what the song was (or I wasn't paying attention when they did).

Yeah, that's it. It seems, that the song mentioned, and To A Close had somehow changed names. So I changed them back. Makes no sense to me, but I completely lost that song for a while. Oh, and I didn't know it was a cover. Thanks for the info :D

An all expense paid trip to NYC to see Sean Hannity tape his show with Newt Gingrich.
