thats pretty hard to accomplish given the LP format limits the length to about 30 minutes, and the audio quality is really limited towards the end due to increased rotation speed. I really doubt it exists

^That's the one I was thinking, too.

Brian Eno's Discreet Music is also just a tad over 30.

And continuing that there's An Index of Metals from the Fripp & Eno album Evening Star, clocks in just shy of 29 minutes.

As mentioned above, Todd Rundgren's Utopia managed to fit the 30:25 'The Ikon' on to their self-titled 1974 debut. And it's well worth a listen too.

Karn Evil 9 gets close, and Thick As a Brick is split in two 20 something minute songs so I don't think it counts.. other than that yeah The Ikon, but most of the really long epics are from the 90's and 00's.

I think the biggest problem with his music is the fact that a vast majority of his songs are between 20-30 minutes, I can't ever do marathons of his music because listening to like 10 songs in 4 hours gets pretty tedious fast.LOL

Missing out on all the cool drone doom, drone metal, stoner metal stuff that have 30 minute plus tracks then.

I usually listen to his music in the background, while doing other stuff. I can tell you that having to listen consciously to one of these songs usually feels like a marathon to me!Wink

Sorting my iTunes by track time I get:

Bayreuth Return - Klaus Schulze (Timewind)
The Ikon - Todd Rundgren's Utopia (Todd Rundgren's Utopia)

So there really isn't very much that qualifies (at least amongst my collection).

They're clearly meant to be listened to in succession, so I think it does count. Wink
